I would argue against stressing that Lying is the Norm. Perhaps a better idea is to use the Ebay like system of recommendations and Ratings. No public lynchings are needed in the forums but the purchaser does have recourse in the event of being lied to.

Okay, you are right - its not the norm.
But how do you know who you can trust?

Thought about this - but: what if i simply rate negative a seller?

What if i sell (without placing an ad) a capped player, the buyer is disappointed and rates me negative?

What if i place an ad, do not disclose the cap -> which isnt really lying - > should i be rated negative for this?

The main point is: invest into "newbies education" and the system will work without any rating system.

More and more it turns out for me, that some here are jealous of few sellers - so stop discussing - place some "education ads"

Personally i hope the admins jump in and put an information disclaimer before accessing the ads and transfer market and everything will be fine.

Excellent ideas.

Both the disclaimer before accessing the market and ads.
And also about education.
They could build a, lets say 5 step education each having 3-5 multiple choice questions (answer could be found in FAQ and rules)
1: Before you can build any construction, you have to take the "Construction diploma"
2: Before you can buy players, you have to take the "Transfer diploma"

Fully endorse the educational steps. It ties into Blackhawks most excellent idea of acheivements for the game, that I said we should use like other games do to educate the users on the system.

withholding information on an ad and saying a player has high stats isn't lying, its bigging up your player for sale and promoting him.
if you have a 2* and ad him as a 5* then thats blatent lying and should be discouraged in anyway possible.
some sort of vote system or comment section for buying and selling players might be good.
an education system might be the way in the future but this game has bigger needs in other areas to deal with than this atm.

Admins need to define yes or no that naming and shaming is against forum rules.
maybe even stopping new players buying or selling players for the first 4 weeks of their new managerial position then they have a rough idea of the ropes and hopefully read the forum.

The official statement from the admins:

There won't be any black list, top 10 liars and public lynching in G-I.

There is always a chance that some has made a mistake by reading the stars or has made a typing error in the adds and to put him/her on the that kind of a list - NO GO!

Some are making honest mistakes and some are trying to lead others astray. This is totally human from the first civilizations forward. We have an option - scouting which fixes this problem. And fresh teams issue - everyone is/was fresh team once and if it's worth risking $ 2.500, then this is a managing call.

We won't hire a special police task force to watch over adds but if someone will go over the limit he/she will punished as always in G-I - penalty is double the gain and this is done by us without the public. Non-public penalties are due to the reason - if it's the penalty a mistake, then the damage is unrepairable with public presence. Those who are finned they know how it looks and hurts.

All I ask is that, if we aren't going to be allowed to blacklist people(which I fully endorse, I think that's extreme and not needed), that we at least are given more than 5 scouting reports a week. Some weeks these 5 are plenty. Other weeks, no where close. If we want to be able to search the market for players and be able to trust what we're buying, we need more than 5. Especially since we're already paying for them.
