Unless someone else claims the rights for it, I will see if there needs to be any updates to it.

Unfortunately, there seems to be pages missing from this PDF ... does a complete version still exist?

Will look into it.... brb

Perhaps I should update this....

I will complete it before the new engine is installed....

Just writing it down for my clarification Cheers viktor.

Yup you gaught it (or so i think based on the Dbs I dabbled with)

i think otherwise on both. both my WR's have no tactical skills at all and make quite good stats.

Tactical skills except for probably Qb rank fairly low on the list of the skills required.

Just some Youth Academy theory that will be lost forever if I don't put it somewhere sticky:

***

I have been on this game exactly 200 weeks so far, and in that time have managed 10 youth-pulls of 4.5 stars talent or more and I would estimate I've had about 40 pulls that have been 3.5 or 4 stars.

Players of very high talent, or very low talent, are exponentially rarer. After considering a number of different probability curves, the closest I found was something like rolling three four-sided dice and subtracting two from the result, then converting the 1-10 figure into stars.

In that scenario, the odds of getting a 5* player would be one in 64, and a 4.5* player would be one in 21.33.

The total odds spread for a set of three d4 (converted into talent stars) is as follows:

5* 1/64
4.5* 3/64
4* 6/64
3.5* 10/64
3* 12/64
2.5* 12/64
2* 10/64
1.5* 6/64
1* 3/64
0.5* 1/64

Some (very basic) advice for new managers wondering where to play their players.

***

Train physicals and see where they cap.

If they get high in speed, make them corners or wide receivers, if they get high in strength, make them linemen, if they get high in both and they're smart, make them linebackers or safeties, if they get high in both and they're dumb, make them tight ends or running backs, if they cap low in both and they're smart, make them quarterbacks, and if they cap low in both and they're dumb, make them kickers.

A couple of questions as I complete my first half of a season. Any thoughts on roster size for new teams? Should I try to keep all of my youth pulls or can I quickly decide if a guy has a future? I can see advantage in keeping a minimal number of better players and a small bench to keep payroll low but does that hurt long term? Would a nyone suggest a target roster size?

It seems several people are suggesting trying to train up speed and strength and then pick a position. Are new teams better off sticking these youth pulls into a position if they are about as good as the guys they already have playing?

Lastly, when should somone think about upgrading a nutrition center? I seem to have several guys needing to add or lose weight.

Roster size is all about personal preference and how you want to build your team. I will say, there's no need to keep a large roster of low talent players (less than 3.5* talent). Low talent players are good to use until you have good money coming in to buy better talent players, but it's a waste to keep lots of extra low talents for development.

Absolutely, if he's currently better than what you have, by all means, play him. Just keep training speed and strength and be prepared to change him to another position if speed or strength caps to early for the current position.

I'd wait until you have all VIP and Exec seats built and some regular seats. Also, fitness center, training hall, and club shop are all more useful to have at the moment over nutrition center. Nutrition center was added in preparation for the new engine that didn't come. It's expected to be used in the new engine we are currently waiting for, but there's been no confirmation for that either. As things stand now, it serves no purpose. The only reason to get it is to prep your players in hopes the new engine comes and actually makes use of it.
