I have updated my Spilling the Beans guide to include how I would manage a new team, if I were to start over today with the knowledge I know now.

You can download the PDF here:

If you find any mistakes or would like to give some constructive feedback you can do it here in this thread or pm me directly.

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks!!! This is my 2nd full season, so I am not exactly a new player but I found this guide to be very very useful. I appreciate the effort you put in for the rest of us!!

Thanks to the guide, I decided to sell a guy with some nice stats, and he ended up at almost 3 mil! Definitely glad I did it. Now my stadium is well on its way. Thanks for the guide.

Minor updates to the PDF, but today also include some more tools to support my Spilling the Beans guide.

I have adapted two of pstimpel's user scripts to fix what I need. Both can be found at User Scripts.

http://userscripts.org/tags/gridiron

They are called STBSkills and STBRating.

Hope you will enjoy them

Nice work jesp.

While you are at it, could you modify the script to help identify the best positions for capped/uncapped players as in a rating purely based on sp/str/stamina/consisten/intelligence based on your standards

So I read through your position requirements and made me wonder if DT's matter at all? If a team is pass pass pass, would it just make sense to run a 3-5-3 or a 3-4-4 or a 3-3-5. Is a 4-4 not effective? I've always ran a 4-4 and have had success. I guess the question is, does the dt ever get interior pressure?

I did like the idea of putting my corners in the stcb to get the experience. Never thought of doing that. I have never had a special teams td, so it won't hurt.

Anyone been successful with running the ball? I have a beast of a rb and have had some success with him. I mean, if people are focusing on passing and setting up defenses to defend the pass then wouldn't it soften up the defense for the run?

I'm running a 5-3-3 defense to defend the pass Don't compare real American football and Grid Iron football, since it is not the same. The most important thing is that you field your 11 best defenders and the best place to have mediocre defenders is at the interior defensive line, since they hardly make a difference in a passing match.

It isn't possible to get a return touchdown at the moment, so no point in trying to get it.
