Positives about lower consistency?

I've seen a lot of talk about making sure you have a high consistency for all your players. For myself, I see it can be a strategy to have players in certain positions with less consistency. For example, both my DEs have a consistency of 1. I want these guys to pressure the QB and get sacks. I see these as high risk/high reward positions. So having them preform at a 120% for certain games and only 80% for others is worth it to me, because I know in certain games they will be more likely to make curcial sacks to stop drives at important times.

Love to hear any other thoughts?

The low Consistency can be a blessing, since it can boost a players skills. It mainly is a problem on players that you need solid performances from each game, which is why people focus on getting high Consistency on positions like QB, MLB, OLB, CB, SF and K.

Consistency for me is more like a "personal risk you are willing to take"

Kicker is the only position i go with Consistency 20

...all others i dont really care - i focus more to have a consistency level overall something around 12....

....and hope to an even statistical distribution of the random...

Also remember that the higher a skill is the more important Consistency is. Consistency can never make a skill go above 20, so a player with a skill of 20 and Consistency 1 would have a skill between 16 and 20.

Risk and then reward or penalty, but remember it can be randomly anywhere between, so it's just as likely to be a slight gain as it is a slight penalty. A 1 con can perform anywhere between +20 and -20 and if statistics will bear witness, it's usually somewhere in between. Personally I like that risk (for one of the positions) at DE, WR or TE. If we had INT's returned for TD's, I'd do the same at CB, since theoretically the SF backs him up

Kick return touchdowns are in the game engine, so I think that INT return TDs are also in the game. It probably just a case of it haven't happened yet. Just like we haven't seen a kick return TD either.

That's news to me, I've seen a 25 yard INT return and a 45 yard KO return, but I've never seen one for a TD. Can anyone show me this in a game?

The Admins have stated it can happen, it just haven't happened yet We had a great little thread a couple of pages back where I ended up having the longest kick return yet (among the active users of the community at the present time ) - a massive 54 yards, yet still no TD

I took part in some of that thread.........congrats on the 54 yards, but I'll believe the TD's can happen when I see one. I told my kids Santa was real too, now I find myself backpedaling

My understanding was that consistency is supposed to effect 'match performance' plus or minus 20 percent, and not the actual skills themselves.

That said, after scouting a lot of players at top teams who win trophies, I have serious doubts that consistency actually works in the GE the way the Admins have described it.
