I think his logic is that to make receivers great, you have to have a good QB (unless you want to keep Tannehill and keep losing), and a good OL. To get the good QB, you have to free up some more cap space than Miami has (yes I know they have good cap room right now) But, along with the QB, bolster the front.

Wrong. You dont need cap space to get a new good qb. You can get him almost exclusively through drafting and rookies are a bargain.

Other than that in the real world ryan tannehill is our starting quarterback, he is a better than average starter not easy to replace at all (look how many qbs fail or endure major growing pains: Wentz, Goff, bortles, Petty, bridgewater, Lynch, Osweiler, even winston according to gatr). Other than that our qb guru head coach likes him a lot, he just lead us to a 7-1 winning streak before the injury so I can live with that kind of losing, over a full season it usually traslates in to a first round bye in the playoffs. I know, reality is hard to believe at times

To an extent I agree. Qbs are really hard to replace. If drafting a rookie I would leave in Tannehill and let the rookie face some competition before kicking out Tannehill. Gives you some protection in case you draft the next Gabbert. If you bring in a free agent. Well that tends to be tough to find. I don't see anyone suitable coming up.

The two I see coming up are Romo and Cutler. Cutler is not good enough and Romo will retire too quickly. Bradford maybe but I don't think he is enough of a benefit for the effort.

There are two back ups in New England. I believe one of them will stay for sure, but the other will be scooped up. Otherwise, I'd be looking to the draft. Not impressed by anything else out there for improvement. Moore already showed a hint of what can be done with the players they already have. Take some chances and know that the QB will make the difference

Brissett? Who is Brissett? A shot in the dark. He played three games and did almost nothing, by gameplan. In the game where he was asked to do a bit more he couldnt deliver, and was injured.

Garoppolo might be good and could have a pretty good value, with two major caveat:

1- He got injured after six quarters of football. Not promising. It wasnt evene a particularly good shot he took.

2- How many Patriots backup had success outside new england? The best of the bunch is probably Cassell. That doesnt mean much in itself, Garoppolo looks talented and a good guy, but makes me be very cautious if I'm a GM.

Moore didnt show much that Tannehill didnt show before him, and he has a competitive advantage in the fact he is a mistery box right now because of the last 5 years on the bench. Ryan is better, younger, more talented. Also keep in mind that Moore is one concussion from retirement. As I said I'm sure he is an above average backup and better than some starters, but not better than Tannehill. I still do hope he plays well this evening and earns another AFC player of the week and we beat the BIlls

This is what happens to fans when Tannehill goes 7-1 against mediocre teams, so he fools them all for another season. I'm just glad he went down and everyone was able to see what the back up could do with the same receivers. Hey, even their tight end got involved to a large extent. I see too much Cutler in Tannehill to get excited.

I'll say just that it's hard to find two more different quarterbacks than Cutler and Tannehill. Even from a personal standpoint.

I had forgotten about them alright. Garrapollo might be a good shout if you can get him. He is largely untested and no one wants to end up with Matt Cassel as their starter. I would keep Tannehill and trade the loser of the competition.

Garrapollo might be expensive with plenty of teams far more desperate for a qb. I don't think the Dolphins have the team to go all in just yet anyway so I feel a slower approach is better.

Yeah, but we only need a win over the Patriots in order to get into the playoffs if the Broncos win tomorrow. Even if the Broncos win, the 'Phins still get in if any 1 of these 3 happen next week:

Dolphins beat Patriots, Denver loses to Oakland or Kansas City loses to San Diego.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Defense got hashed today, but Phins still managed to pull off a huge win.

Full credit to Gaze and the rest of the staff for taking a team that looked done after.Week 5 to the brink of the post season. I know the schedule was favourable, but you can only beat what's put in front of you.
