There's no I in team.

The biggest thing this year and the reason because I think dysfunction is over, they never quit. They could have easily quit yesterday but always found a way. I hope new england plays the starters if it's meaningful, things are to be earned.

Start cheering for the Chiefs to beat the Broncos, tomorrow. Chiefs win and the Dolphins are in.

with the patriots beatdown on the jets i think they would be fools to start brady or any other important player next week

Yeah, but we only need a win over the Patriots in order to get into the playoffs if the Broncos win tomorrow. Even if the Broncos win, the 'Phins still get in if any 1 of these 3 happen next week:

Dolphins beat Patriots, Denver loses to Oakland or Kansas City loses to San Diego.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Given Derek Carr the Chiefs beating the Broncos seems the best option.

How old is Marty? If you could get a few seasons out of him and a decent prospect you could threaten Tannehill. Especially if a team is desperate enough to pay too high a bounty for him. Bradford got a first round pick remember. The upshot is you either get to trade Tannehill or better production (I frequently suspect the guy has more in him but is lazy).

I see New England tanking and giving Miami an in, (which is not New Englands normal practice). So I see them doing it as much as not doing it.

Miami cannot win against any team with a reasonable defense, eg any AFC playoff team. Otherwise other playoff teams run the risk of allowing the Broncos into the playoffs. If it is an offensive shootout, Miami seem to do well. Defensive grind, Miami suck.

Broncos face KC and Oakland, both teams have secured playoff spots, so it will get interesting. Including a Carrless Raiders. A loss tonight for Broncos against Chiefs puts Dolphins in without even need to worry about Week 17's tanking-non-tanking.

Whichever scenerio may play out. The Dolphins are positioned well to secure a playoff spot.

Clinched with one week to go

Now, we can win or lose it's a great season anyway. Beside the Patriots there isnt a team I feel we cant beat in the playoffs. I think the opposite of project, i fear more teams with a great offense Who can exploit our D weaknesses.

It's relevant to see if ryan can really recover from the injury.

We are likely going to pittsburgh, acceptable matchup we already beat them. Then hopefylly Oakland without Carr

Being the sixth seed. You wont go through the fifth or second seeds which oakland will be. So pittsburg and new england. Both teams will shread miami's secondry.

Miami beat Pittsburgh once this year (30-15), and they can do it again. However, teams like that are usually the ones you pay a heavy price for beating them the first time when the second game comes around. That said, a fifth seed is possible with a KC loss to the Chargers and Miami win over the Pats next week. If Miami remains 6th, then it will be another tense day in the house between the wife (Steelers fan) and I for that one.

The 2-3 Pittsburg team you faced with missing multiple defensive starters isn't the same team now. It is the playoffs. Wipe the slate clean (unless you come out the the AFC south haha), history means nothing, everyone starts fresh. I guess for Miami fans. Not matter how long the post season lasts and considering how long since the last one, enjoy the run, no matter how long it lasts. Especially since Pittsburgh is the only team with a playoff appearance this season or better then .500 record this season they have won against.

I could be wrong on this, but even with a KC loss and Miami win, the seedings wont change for KC vs Miami. Records would be the same, conference records would be the same, but common games in KCs favour, strength of schedule in KCs favour, strength of victory in KCs favour.

So KC will go through Houston and Oakland and Miami will go through Pittsburg and New England.

Miami would get in with a win and KC loss. This would bring their records to even and Miami already owns the common opponent tie-breaker.

Common Opponents:
Chargers
Jets
Steelers
Titans

Miami is 4-1 against these opponents while KC is currently 2-2. Even with a win this weekend, they would still just be 3-2 against common opponents, but they would have a better overall record than Miami which gives them #5. However, the loss ties their records and drops KC to 2-3 against common opponents. The Chiefs just need a Miami loss in order to secure the fifth seed while Miami needs both a win and a Chiefs loss to steal it. Either way, I'm just glad to see them get back into the play-offs so long as they play like they belong there when they play the game.

By the way, that was a 4-1 Steelers team playing against a 1-4 'Phins at the time. The Steelers were missing Heyword and Shazier. Shazier was out the week before and it didn't cost them the win. If anything, the 'Phins are the ones who can walk into a rematch saying "we're not the same losing team that beat you then."
