Suh is playing fairly well in a dumpster fire right now.
He was supposed to bring out the best out of players around him but there is something structurally disfunctional in the miami D. I dont know if it's two gapping or some excessive semplification of the D. There is certainly some mismanaging of the talent at disposal (brice mccain outside CB??? Wake and Suh in read n react mode? Mitchell 2gapping???? Kelvin Sheppard behind a 2gapping DL??????).

His contract was market value for a top defender, it just works like that in the NFL (Lions offered only slightly less). Maybe you can just open a thread about contracts in the NFl, it's a very interesting topic (ALL the time players are paid on previous production with partial gurantees AND they either underperform or overperform the contract).
That being said I follow Suh since the Nebraska day and if there is a player dedicated to the game is Suh. Money doesnt change that. It's entirely possible that he will underplay his contract but not for lack of fire. And judgement on that topic by me will come after at least 3 seasons in a 6 year contract.

Project, since you are good at forecasting dolphins moves, who do you think they should hire as new HC? what should they do?

I disagree with regard to Suh's motivation. During the free agent process, he said his agent would be picking who he played for next, that is, he would sign with whoever paid him the most money. I think that's pretty telling.

Suh is a classless thug and should be banned from football. To think a grown man playing football for a living and making ridiculous coin should ever be stomping and kicking players as they lay on the ground, is just a sad state of acceptable behavior. I say acceptable, because the fines aren't enough to make them blink. Oh sure, they fine him and fine him again..........to date, he's lost about 400K combined in lost earnings and fines. Total joke. That would be like fining me $2 for kicking a fellow employee in the @$$ because he got in my way at the water cooler. It's not surprising personalities of this sort, that liter the Miami locker room, would require superior management to handle and produce great team results. Hopefully they find someone up to the task. Unfortunately, those up to the task would probably chase half the team off and rebuild

He is a tough, hardnosed and sometimes even dirty player. Definitely has a mean streak and plays through the whistle. Some like that, some dont.
Maybe Gatr you should put things into perspective because any job is different and I dont know if your job is to kick asses of supremely trained athletes. Stomping someone in that kind of job with a lot of adrenaline flowing is not like stomping a guy who asks for a pencil at the office. It's worth a fine but not more in my book. Some other things he does are exagerated because journalists always like a thug story when they can create one out of nothing, like when warren sapp blindsided Chad Clifton.

Off the field he is softspoken and a businessman. The quote about the agent picking his next team is just a sign of how smart he is recognizing the business part of the game. I can only respect him for being able to maximize his value but that doesn't diminish his dedication for the game

Suh was a captain in the best Nebraska defense of the last 15 years, one that was clearly national championship caliber and n°1 in the nation in 2009.

Last year if I recall correctly Lions were #1 defense in the NFL.

He cant play offense but I guess a defense can do pretty well with him in the lineup.

You're about right on that, I remember the Nebraska defense of 95 quite vividly...but how good of a player he is certainly wasn't my point.

I have no problem with playing through the whistle, adrenaline flowing, etc. I do like that and even recognize that as part of the game, even if some of it has to be whistled. Stomping on players and kicking players when they are down is way over that line. It borders on criminal activity really. My comparison was not for job duties, but the mockery of the fines levied for what he has done. It's a joke and definitely not a deterrent to curbing this activity. What he can do as a business man is irrelevant to his inability to control his temper. I watched a high school kid in New Jersey rip the helmet off an opposing player, then smash him with an uppercut with the helmet he just ripped off. He's done with football. The NFL needs to be more strict like this, instead of covering their enterprise. I'm of the opinion that this activity stops when the punishment fits the crime. There is no doubt he is a beast and talented and if he can get 59M or 112M, then go get it, but I can't respect the guy. If he wanted to impress people on some level, then screw the management and see how he can pull that defense together and get them to win, be a leader, curb the stomping/kicking bs and go play some football.

Hyperbole much?

The league is full of guys who are guilty of sexual assault, battery, hit and runs, DUI's, taking PED's or recreational drugs, dog fighting and all manner of other criminal activity.

If your going to start banning guys from football for cheap shots, then you'll soon have no left to play the game.
