Defense was the definition of vanilla and predictability, but that's fine in preseason. What is less fine is bad techique two weeks in a row, especially but not only tackling (Phillips is wildly inconsistent against zone blocking, overall they lacked discipline in filling running lanes).

Are they teaching rugby tackling? saw two broken tackles with what looked like rugby technique, guess if it's that. I have a strong belief rugby tackle might be good for health but is even better for runningbacks.

tackling is getting pretty shitty in the nfl with all the new rules for "safety". they are making enough money we want to see people getting annihilated.

Saw an article this morning about Ronney Stanley being the best graded rookie tackle so far in pre-season and it lead me to thinking; how's Laremy Tunsil getting on with the Dolphins? Haven't seen much of their preseason games (few basic highlights where the OL generally isn't mentioned). Be interesting to know how he fairs this season after the whole draft day debacle.
