Saw an article this morning about Ronney Stanley being the best graded rookie tackle so far in pre-season and it lead me to thinking; how's Laremy Tunsil getting on with the Dolphins? Haven't seen much of their preseason games (few basic highlights where the OL generally isn't mentioned). Be interesting to know how he fairs this season after the whole draft day debacle.

hes not even playing tackle so i dont see them being compared to each other for at least a year or two

Ah fair enough. Presumably playing guard to get some NFL level experience and then slide out when whoever is at tackle leaves or goes rubbish?

well branden albert was pro bowl last season and ja wuan james is one of the better right tackles out there. tunsil will have to wait for albert to call it a career or get cut.

So far Tunsil is playing pretty well at the new position. The same site that lists Stanley as the best Tackle says that Tunsil gave up zero pressures so far in 90 snaps played (huge plus from Dallas Thomas). He isn't as good run blocking but I think that could be expected given he never ever played Guard before.

To be honest I dont like that they are playing him Guard because he is a natural tackle if there is one (his college HC said that he cant imagine him as a guard :lol but I guess they know what they are doing. Anyway Branden Albert is going to be cut next season and Tunsil will slide over to LT.

Stanley is surprising me a little bit, I didnt think he was going to be so good. The early look is that both parties involved will be winners in this situation.

They are both good tackles. They'll be solid players well into the future.

It's fairly commonplace to slide a new guy in one, especially when you have better and more established players already at both tackle spots. I guess it's to get them some time in real game situations and used to the speed and contact levels of playing in the NFL as compared to college. Just have to hope he isn't there so long that he forgets how to play tackle as his skillset at college and during the draft process cleary put him as an elite tackle.

Have to agree with PR's last bit, both should be stand out players for years to come.

Albert will get cut next season. He is expensive, old, injured and old. Did I mention injured? ProBowl selection, as almost always for linemen, was based on name recognition. Was slightly above average last season when on the field but not a world beater. In preseason he is looking bad, I hope it is just a veteran taking it easy.

James is average. He holds his own but nothing more and if things around him break down he breaks too.

I really wanna see Foster bust a move. He could make The tannefail vanilla offense interesting. Or he could just go down hurt. Again.

Aren't they giving him some extended playing time in the 3rd preseason game because he's been so bad thus far in games 1 and 2? He could be losing any chance at the starting spot if he doesn't get up to speed this week

I would consider cutting him if he doesnt show something.

To be honest in the 2 runs he had there was no room to run. Zero. On the -5 especially it was dramatic to see Pouncey pushed in the backfield two yards. But he needs to show ability to cut and run without esitation and possibly with some power.

Orlando City FC will be hosting the NFL tonight with the Dolphins and Atlanta coming to town. The game was moved to help market the 2017 Pro Bowl, which will also be played in Orlando. The NFL is going to pay my club 200 million for the two games
