A scheme so good it as netted Chicago who many wins recently? Just the last 2 seasons results will be fine for an answer.

Calm down guys, really...

Henry went in the middle of the 2nd. After Tunsil Miami HAD to pick at least a Cb who they felt could challenge for a starting job. They had just one on the roster to that point. I don't feel entirely safe with the pick but I'm glad they didnt pick a RB. Henry might be a good player but not a fit, like it or not. Wouldn't be the first Heisman to be a bust in the NFL. If you are the starter and you have 1/3 the catches of your backup in a 3 years span likely your coaches dont see you as a receiving threat

The "Bears offense" is the same as the record breaking Broncos offense the years before. The scheme is good but you have to make it work. BTW Bears receiving corp last season was beyond horrible, injury depleted.

I think you have to strike a balance between talent and fit. Some very talented guys dont play very well if they arent put in position to succeed. Some coaches need a precise kind of player to make their ideas work (Arians needs a strong armed Carson Palmer and fast receivers to push his vertical offense). Others might be more flexible but still they have a strategy to make different fits.
In the NFL you can pretty much build a roster as you like and it's better to have a plan than just stockpiling the players who possess the best talent in a vacuum (and that's just something you cant do because of the salary cap).
From what I have read Gase is a rather flexible guy (different from Lazor who was very strict on how to make his offense) but I have a feeling a guy like Henry was never in his plans. He was more likely an Elliott guy.

I'm a Bears fan, that's a pretty ugly offense to throw out there as any kind of credible support. I wish Miami all the luck in the world, but until they figure out the management issues, they are going to struggle. Personally, I agree with PR, their QB is just never going to be consistently top 10. Certainly has had enough opportunity to try, unlike some other QB's that come through the league. At some point you have to come to terms with it. Trust me on this one, I'm a Bears fan and I have to suffer through yet another QB that just will never take us over the top, but yet they rally around him year after year. I watched Cutler come up through Vandy in the SEC and when he eventually landed in Chicago (hailed as one of the great QBs), can't wait til he's replaced. But it's Chicago and what do they do, they sign up Hoyer. Oh well, average QB's are mainstay in Chicago

Yeah, 6-10 seasons are really a positive in Chicago. Thanks for reminding me. A lot of folks think like you do and so guys like Jay just remain on a pedestal year after year. They get lost in the dinks and dunks crap that give him a 60+ % completion rate, but lose game after game. His yardage per game last season was a stinky 243/game. He had 21 TD's and 11 INT's, but that is apparently acceptable too. Look Cutler comes from Vandy and he just doesn't have the next level capability, despite however you want to twist it. 6-10 is the new best season statistic!! The Bears 335 pts scored ranked them 23/32 teams, but that is the new 'potent offense' every team drools over. This is a ridiculous conversation to even have, but we get used to this acceptable mediocrity in Chicago. Miami seems to be falling right in line with this mindset. Go Tannebomb go

He was already worth a minimum 9.8 millions over one year so that looks a fair deal.
Either you cut him or you keep him. If you cut him he will go to another team for less money, if you keep him you cant go under that price.

I don't think some of you follow the Dolphins that closely or at the very least do research before saying something. As kagemusha said wake was due about 10 million this year, and by simple math 2 years at 15-17 million over two years is not as much as 10 million. Are you guys not aware of what gase was doing with the Broncos? Offensive coordinator of the highest scoring offense in history but clearly he knows nothing?

My comments were clearly aimed at the Bears QB issues and then comparing them to the similar QB problems in Miami. You seem to think Cutler had a fantastic season last year and therein lies the problem with assessing the QB situation at Miami. Both teams have trouble identifying the right guy to lead them out of mediocrity. You want to use Denver stats regarding scoring offense, well look at the QB they went out and got and look at all the receivers they went out and got. This is not apples to apples, at least not yet. All he had to do was hook up with Manning and throw to an incredible cast of receivers. Gase has a good track record, even pushed the Bears up to the middle of the pack with their anemic offense for a season. Miami needs a better and more consistent QB and I'm sure he will figure that out in short order
