Do you follow college football? I will give you 1 guess who won the most recent Heisman Trophy? You are correct, they just don't throw to the running backs a lot, as I explained in some sort of detail in my last post. I will assume you were trying to be funny

I live in Tallahassee, Florida. Yes, I follow college football. Hell, I've even written about it for the local newspaper.

Seems you would judging from past posts you have made. Why would you suggest Henry was not a starter at Bama? He kind of won the big trophy, the one with the pose

I thought the stats he was quoting belonged to Kenyan Drake.

I didn't check, just sounded about right. Now I have checked, Henry had 16 receptions in his career, but really was only a starter this past season, where he won the Heisman. 16 receptions for 291 yards or 18.2 per catch. Not too shabby.

Drake had a total of 46 receptions over the course of 3 seasons used as more of a back up role. Total receiving yards were 570 for a 12.4 yards per catch avg. Drake is a speed burner and also a great kick returner. Although I'm not sure who would win a 100 yard dash, as Henry takes a bit longer to get up to full speed. Flat out 40, Drake wins by .1, but I have seen Henry run away from too many dbs in the SEC to doubt his top speed

Derrick Henry isn't know for his hands. It'd been written about a few times that I've read. If he had good hands, then he would be a TE like Hunter Henry.

If you have 16 catches in 4 years it's safe to say some coach believed he could not catch the ball well. Miami is a zone blocking scheme, Henry only fits a power scheme.

That disregards Bama's entire offense scheme. Between the two backs, they caught a total of 40 passes last season, 5th and 7th on the team. There is simply not enough opportunities to really tell. But when they did catch, they both were able to get more yards. Regardless of catching, Henry is a workhorse with 395 carries in the SEC for over 2200 yards. You can paint it any way you want, but for you or Miami to act like he just wasn't a good fit is ridiculous. A back like that can fit just fine in virtually any system. Again, proof is in the pudding and where he landed, there is a decent chance he will be in the running for rookie of the year. I get folks like Drake, but he wasn't tested to that durability level, with only 77 carries for the season and though I agree he is good, he already has battled injury in that limited role. I love his speed and kick return ability, but Henry is by far the better back and a great blocker

im pretty sure miami considered that when they were scouting, and felt like drake was a better fit.

Miami scheme hasn't worked cos they haven't had the good players to make it work.

I posted it earlier in the thread. Sometimes getting good players and adjusting your scheme to suit is better than getting mediocre players and running the same scheme over and over.

Miami haven't been able to make anything work using the same formula of many past seasons. They needed an talent injection and change. But they didn't do it.

Tannehill is never gonna be a top 15 QB. They they really need to juice up the backfield to support him. I believe they missed their chance this draft.

Scheme changes with different oc and head coach. They now have the bears offensive scheme, a scheme that was considered so good that it got gase a head coaching job. They have changed offensive schemes maybe 3 times in the past 5 years.
