The second rounder Howard is seen as a starter.

Strange draft, I thought we were going defense and we drafted 3 receivers (Duarte is a fake TE).

i thought the draft was decent. They addressed corner and runningback which were the two largest holes and they got the best offensive line prospect since joe thomas. they seemed to go all out on offense for some reason but i have faith in gase.

Decent by what standard? Added a pot smoker, a head case and a few more odd selections at receiver. I would give them a C grade overall and just added some more locker room issues. I'm not a fan and I don't hate them, but it's just the same old Miami drafting

They know he took it once at 17. He isn't the only kid to do something stupid (and by in large it wasn't the dumbest thing in the world). Plus lets be honest-does that even count towards locker room issues given what a lot of other teams have put up with.

Had the video been released a week earlier then his draft position would have been unaffected by it. As it was teams panicked. Partially because of the video and partially because the next reveal could be worse. I would agree about the rest of the selections but Tunsil shouldn't have fallen that far.

They knew he took it once at 17??? Okay, let's be real, you take pot once and you use a rolled up blunt handed to you by some dude at a party. Then tell family and friends along the road of life, "yeah, I tried it once." Roll into the party wearing a bong/helmet contraption that makes you look gassed out of your mind and you are no longer a novice when it comes to pot. But hey, what do I know............could be his first time

All joking aside, I am not questioning his talent. I had him among the top OL prospects, but regarding the Miami draft, it was mediocre overall and they did gain more potential locker room issues/media issues. I stay with the C grade

Hmm time to suggest a gas mask smiley!

Em good point though, hadn't fully thought it through (or he might have had terrible friends who brought that stuff with them but as this isn't a court of law we can leave out cases of reasonable but incredibly unlikely doubt). The dude was a bit of a stoner obviously. If he has kept it up then he is an issue. If he has found god or a serious competitive streak or anything to give it up he is a good pick (as you mention). I just felt your initial write up was a bit dismissive of him is all.

I can't judge the other picks so give it whatever grade you like, I can't argue with their picks after the 1st.

Gatr, you do realize probably half of the kids selected in that draft have smoked pot at some point. They just haven't had it slapped up on social media.

Also your condemning the kid as a regular pot user from one video, he claims happened two years ago.

You'd swear the kid was injecting heroin on a daily basis the way people are going on about this.

First off, we're talking about a Miami team that has a locker room full of issues.

Half the kids in the draft or out of the draft have probably smoked pot, just not so many with the bong/helmet contraption.

condemning? No. Just don't believe the first time story.

That's quite a leap to jump to anywhere that I suggested he's a daily heroin user. That leap is entirely yours.

Fact is, Miami's draft was just okay and I don't see them improving much if any as a result. This is why I first responded to disagree with another managers opinion regarding their overall draft.

I didn't think there draft was great either, as posted earlier. But for every different reasons to Gatr22.

I think their First rounder was awesome. Tunsil at #13 is a steal. I wont comment on his outside football activities as there just isn't enough info out there other than one short video.

The second round choice was to get a mid pack third round CB. Yes it was their most pressing need, but they could have got a very good RB n the second round. Another need.

Then cos all the top RBs were gone by round three. They got a mid pack RB also.

So the got a CB2/3 and a RB2 from their picks. Where they could have got a RB1 and a RB2/3 had they drafted a RB in the second.

They are trying to lift above mediocre. But other than Tunsil, they picked mediocre.

They now have two RB2s in their backfield, there they could have drafted a RB1.

My personal opinion is they had the worst draft of any team as they failed to make much improvements. Most teams had 2-3 improvements.Last edited on 2016-05-03 at 2:27
