Had a friendly last monday - home team had 55,000 seat stadium and was a Div 2 team and I am div 3 - only got 9251 fans.

That seemed about 1 fifth of what could have been expected? The only modifier I have read about is the tickets being half price so that's not it. What am I missing?

The attendence has nothing to do with tiketprices.
The size of the crowed depends on the division of the home team, the division of the guest, and on the weather!
Usually the crowd get bigger, when the lower ranked team is playing at home (like a big team is coming and everybody wants to see them play).

The thing with the ticke income is, that the tickets are sold at half the usual prive, and the ticket income is shared between both team.

Friendly crowds are only a fifth of normal crowds.

That doesn't seem to be the general rule, I sell out my friendlies a lot. At least I have a 50% crowd.

I didnt say fifth so a stadium. I said fifth of normal crowds. The same calculations for regular game are used fot friendlies. So you could possibly see a difference of 10K of seats.

Don't get me wrong, AFAIR there is a possible max of around 15k tickets. If the actual capacity is higher than that, the income is capped, based on the distribution of seats/exec/vip. If this was changed, I missed the notice about...

So some math -

I got $74,615 from this as the away team.

Tickets were half price so that would normally be approx $150,000.

so if he has built all the VIPs and Execs then

3500 * $110 = $385,000
5751 * $60 = $345,060

So that should have been $730,060

So it looks like 50% (half price tickets) and then about 1 fifth i.e. about one tenth overall.

Now if we work backwards from a more normal situation with a normal crowd -

5 * 9251 = 46,255 (about what such a match would have expected with a div 3 team)

3500 * $110 = $385,000
9000 * $60 = $540,000
33755 * $20 = $675,100

Total - $1,600,100

So $1,600,100 / $74,615 = 21.4

I'm lost.

Is there less money if you're the away team?

Anyway, friendlys give you free cash, bpos and exp so................
