Melbourne Thunder 21-58 Melbourne 49ers
Solid game by the 49ers offense. Puting points on the board and cruising home in the end.

Sunshine Coast Buccaneers 17-35 Slumbering Skink
The Skinks have now have got one hand on the silverware and the other hand is moving towards it with this win over the Bucs. Inconsistency and poor passing by the Bucs never allowed them into the game.

Tuff Gong Iron Backs 17-0 Dunedin Huskies
Huskies offense missed the bus. Though this game would've been a blowout with the amount of ball the Iron Backs got. But to the Huskies credit, their defense was solid and didn't allow many yards considering how much time they spent on the field.

Sydney Saviours 17-14 Kamikaze
Saviours jumped to an early 10 point lead. From there, the defenses took over, and ended up being close one at the end.

Melbourne Blue Jays 42-21 Edwardstown Wolverines
Blue Jays had a solid win. With their pass offense fireing, scoring 21 points in the second, nothing was gonna stop them. Wolverines still played well with a strong running game averaging huge yards per attempt.Last edited on 2012-03-25 at 23:52

I notice a lot of teams using 4 DL , 2 D/E and 2 D/T with no NT?? Strange...

Just weird how approx 7 out of 10 teams are using it in our division.
I never use it and i think its strange. Id rather use 2 D/E with a NT...

4/3 or 3/4, either is a common enough defensive lineup.

Yeah a DE DT DT DE would be a normal 4 man front with 3 LB making up the 43.

I put one rookie in at corner today and ran a cover 3 shell and one wideout took 26 catches at 18 a piece...man you have to laugh. Still upsets like that keeps this game a little fresh because it would suck if every game was so easy to predict.

Well my account expires in 7 days, timing not too bad with the release of V3. If there is no real improvements in the actual football side of things (pass defence especially) I'll probably be hanging them up.

I dunno if the 3 safeties vs 2 safeties as any real benefit. Same as 4 cornerbacks vs 2 cornerbacks scemes I have tried this season.

In the pass heavy game like G-I where the DTs cannot sack the QB, then you are always gonna have 2 unused players.

You can sub the DTs for extra safeties or MLB, but in the end, the current game engine will just pick the best player for that position and use him for that play. So then we should just use the best players for each position in our match orders.

In your case, Clifton Moody was probably making most of the tackles if the average pass was 18 yards, even thought the current live game viewer does not show them. And the centre FS wasn't getting a look in any play.

Hopefully in the new engine, the live viewer will show tackles on a pass plays. Admn have said there will be an improvement to the live viewer. That way we can actively judge tackles vs missed tackles. And DTs can also sack the QB in V3, will make the DT position a much more useful position. Especially on rainy/snowy days as passing has worse on those days.

Whilst I agree in general that the noticeable difference between say 2 CBs and 4 CBs is usually very hard to see, Cashbox's win over the UK in the last WC always sticks out in mind.

1WR vs 2 CBs and 2 Safeties certainly stuffed up their darkwing attempt. So while that kind of defensive setup is crazy, this does indicate to me that additional numbers do seem to have an effect, however small.
