Kickoff yardage SHOULD NOT be the same as field goal range. I've never looked, but that should be reported as another bug if they're the same (which I don't think they are).

Ok, i know my English is not that well,
but if you see it realistic, if someone
is able to kick the ball over 60 yards,
he should be able to shoot a 50 yard FG.
Thats simple logic

It seems like it, but it's really quite different kicking a field goal and kicking a kickoff. They're not even comparable really..

Fg requires more accuracy than a kickoff where you are at the very most trying to kick away from the KRs
(Or logically/intuitively the angles of inclination attempted are different)

It is very simple logic...so simple that it's wrong. Now let's use some advanced logic.

On kickoffs, a kicker gets a running start at the ball...they only get a few steps on a field goal. I don't want to start pulling out physics formulas, so I hope you can understand that this leads to the ball getting struck harder on kickoffs...making the ball go further. They also don't need to worry as much about accuracy on kickoffs.

This is why most NFL kickers can get 70+ yards on a kickoff, but most can't make a 60+ yard field goal.

Let's not forget the tee on kickoffs and off the turf with a snap, place and hold involved to throw in chance of errors for FG's

My 7 skill kicker makes them from 35 and in all day long

My 11 skill kicker has a career long of 36 despite numerous attempts between 35-45.

Edit: He also averages kickoffs of about 62 yards and punts of about 37.

Hmm so like this?

65 yards - 5%
60 yards - 10%
55 yards - 20%
50 yards - 30%
45 yards - 55%
40 yards - 65%
35 yards - 75%
30 yards - 85%
25 yards - 95%
20 yards - 99%

It needs to be an exponential curve, not a linear one, I think.

65 yards - 1%
60 yards - 5%
55 yards - 25%
50 yards - 42%
45 yards - 58%
40 yards - 70%
35 yards - 81%
30 yards - 90%
25 yards - 95%
20 yards - 99%

I dunno...someone else can chime in, but that looks more like what I'd expect from an NFL quality kicker off the top of my head...

That looks fine to me as well too.

According to the graph on that site, which only goes out to 56 yards, I'm not too far off.

That's good information.

When they make the adjustments though they have to remember that all the kickers in the NFL are relatively close in skill level. I mean the 5th best kicker isn't that much better than the 25th..

In GI though there is going to be a huge span of talent from the best to the worst, so the best punters, imo should get about 45-50 yards and the worst about 25.

Unless they adjust the salaries for kickers/punters, the 100k salary a week needs to be worth it, imo.

My 8 skill kicker misses then from 38 and 40 all day long.

And that is the problem...

1. set you orders to <40 to kick for FG, you are 23 yards from the endzone. miss it all the time.

2. set your order to <35 to kick for FG, you are 18 yards from the endzone. make it all the time.

But if you go with no.2, you can finsh 4th-10 on the 19 yards line for example and punt it for a touchback, the offence will start on the 20 yard line.

I might just have to set order to go for a 1st down when under 25 yards, no matter how many yards are left. Not worth punting for 3 yards.

My kickers skill is 10 and his career long is 35, don't feel confident enough to go to 40 yards so i haven't tested him further than the 35 yard line.
