Ok, well this a pretty sad day, but it's goodbye from me.

As per this thread, http://www.grid-iron.org/index.php?page=community&subpage=viewt&t=4327

the Admins have incorrect information in the FAQ so consequently I built to complete a side of my stadium (thereby knowing I will NEVER have to close it again), however due to the screwed up FAQ, I'm still 3500 short.
I spoke to the Admins about THEIR mistake and asked them to undo the construction for me so I can redo it with the correct number.

Their reply:
"FAQ was updated but not published, it will be soon. In one of the post recently we stated that 35.000 limit is for seats. Total amount is 132.500 seats (120.000 + 12.500).

We won't take your seats. It will level to round number when you upgrade next time."

However this screws everything up as it means I have to close 35,000 frigging seats to add 3,500 to complete it because YOU screwed up.
But rather than take responsibility for your mistake, simply stop my construction and return the money so I can do it over, you couldn't give a care.
Hey, why should you, you've got my years worth of money haven't you.

They also informed me that this correction was buried as a comment in a thread somewhere in a forum that has no search function. Big frigging whoop! I believe we've covered this ground a hundred times before. Are players expected to read every single stupid little forum post every day to know how the game frigging works??

So, this is a goodbye to those nice people I've met here, an apology to Atlantic Top Div that I've screwed up the results by playing 14 of 18 games but 2 teams will now get easy games, and that you'll be stuck with another bot next season as I won't be finishing in the last 3.

It's a warning to you all (especially those who've paid money) that even if the Admins screw you over, they won't bother to fix it.

And to the Admins it's a huge *********! So much potential here, but at the end of the day if you can't be bothered with 60 seconds of work to fix a mistake that YOU made and ****** over a customer, then this game is surely not worth anymore time, and especially no more money.Last edited on 2009-08-17 at 9:23

Can't you just upgrade that side during the offseason? I don't think you'll lose any money that way.

I'm just guessing here but I assume he isn't leaving just because of the construction issue.

It seems to be more of a "the admins can't be bothered to make sure the correct information is listed somewhere on the site after the game has been around for over a year" and the overall lack of help we users receive on this site (except for the hard work of some other users who are just making the most educated guesses they can in most circumstances).

Thats what I gathered from it anyways.

Karma, if we would only care about supporter money, then we would run a subscription-only game. This mistake didn't cost you any extra money and doesn't warrant "fiddling around" with database. Also, you'll be able to upgrade your stadium in pre-season again.
All other things aside, we will not allow such language on our forums, so your posting privilege is removed for 7 days.

Hm... hope he doesn't leave just cause of this and I think that yes, you can upgrade stands during offseason without losing money.

Nonetheless, the businessman in me says: customer satisfaction is one of the most important things you have to take care off. I would've undone his construction, simply to keep him happy.
Every customer you upset keeps away possible other customers. So economically speaking it costs you a lot less to make a simple change like this. It's not like changing one users construction would result in everybody asking the Admins to change stuff.

The bold part is exactly the answer to "why we didn't do it". If we do it for Karma then I can guarantee that lots of users would ask us for similar favours, and once you do it for 1 manager, you must do it for anyone else. We do try to keep users happy, and playing it "fair" and "same for everybody" is one way of how we try to achieve this.
And bold part does happen, trust me, it's just hidden in administrative PM inbox, and not posted on forums.

By replying this way and not actually understanding his problem, then you 100% surely have made up his mind of leaving this game, if there had been any hope of talking him into staying.

I'm with Karma on this one. Because of a outdate and major lacking FAQ mistakes will happen. It is then up to the game owner to minimize the damage done that is a result of the current FAQ. Instead Karma is met with an arrogant reply and total lack of understanding from the owners.

It simply cannot be demanded that the managers should find very relevant information in random places on a forum that doesn't have a search function. It is just plain wrong that people have to search the forum for rules at all!

I would like to propose that this game only gets developed in English, at least until all the major mistakes have been ironed out. That way the FAQ can be instant updated as soon as they are found. In the end the FAQ would become the Grid Iron Rulebook that would act as a huge encyclopaedia of knowledge.

Personally I have to question the owners motive in this situation and how their attitude actually can have a long term effect on a promising game. If this is the road they take every time there is a mistake by them, then people will start leaving the game and look for games with better customer support.

If you should choose to silence me, then do it I really don't care in a situation like this.

This was brought up before, and again I am for this. Kick the multilanguage language at least from the FAQ and lets work on it real time!

got to agree with Karma, he clearly used the FAQ for what it is intended to do, got his information from there only for it to be wrong. This mistake therefore is on the part of the game owners not the team owner and should be rectified.

I know people beg the Admins for silly stuff non stop in games like these and it's not the Admins job to do correct their mistakes, we agree so far.
BUT this is only valid if the users made those mistakes knowing everything they had to know, which is not the case here.

IMHO you should've admitted to your mistake, give everyone who made mistakes based on this part of the FAQ the same treatment (e.g. give them the option to add the last 3500 seats) and other than that, ignore unjustified requests in your inbox.

I think you had the chance to differentiate here between justified and unjustified requests but you were afraid of admitting that the outdate FAQ is your fault because you were afraid of the other users asking for stuff and thus blocked Karmas request.

Now you don't have to handle other user's valid querys (which are the only ones you'd have to worry about IMO), instead the atmosphere here dropped cause people side with Karma. I think that proves the point that another course of action might have been more indicated in this case.

Sorry if all this sounds a bit harsh, not meaning to offend anyone here, those are just my 2 cents.

Edit: just edited a few words that were better suited to show what I mean.
