I think Cutler will do fine! He won't be expected to carry the team with Matt Forte running the ball. He won't make as many mistakes and with the return teams for the Bears getting an advantage with the revised blocking rules, they will be a good team. I really don't know what people have against Cutler. I would have been angry if the new coach tried to trade me behind my back then be like oops, sorry didn't mean to do that. Come on. I know its a business but Cutler will do better than Orton or anyone else the Broncos throw out there this year. Cutler won't be top five or anything but there is no reason why he could not be top ten all-around this year.

One problem. The new rumor is that he actually ASKED to be traded, then got upset when they tried to honor his request. Besides, more players than anyone know of come close to being traded. Usually these players find out. Very few react the same way he did.

I think he's a fine QB and will be what the Bears need. But he handled that situation all wrong, and isn't nearly what people thought he was in Denver. He's a good QB who played on a team who was forced to pass most of the time because of a bad defense.

That's why he will do good. He won't be forced to pass so much. He completed 62% of passes. He will do great!

That I can agree with. He'll be a better QB this year despite lesser stats because he has help around him.

But for majority of people who say he'll be great, it's because of the stats he put up last year. That's the problem with stats. Some are inflated, some are deflated, and it all depends on the system. Chicago will at least win the NFC North(unless the Vikings get Favre, then it'll be a great battle), and with the extra help Cutler will be an above average QB. Best in the league? That remains to be seen. Top 10? Very doable.

I just expect him to be about the eigth or tenth best qb as far as stats go. It's really tricky to pick a best quarterback bc you have the intangibles like leadership, toughness, etc. That goes into making the best qb.

HA! If Cutler does well, he will be the first to do it with such a horrible receiving core. None of the possible starters has ever started more than a year at WR. Hester is a minimal threat at best and he's looking like the go-to guy which won't provide much help to Cutler. They've got 3 rookies drafted this year and likely one will start in the slot. They also have Rashied Davis who never was and never will be good, and Earl Bennett who barely played in his first year. Lots of passing targets to throw to there

Luckily, Cutler shouldn't have to throw too much on a team that has never thrown much. As long as the run game stays healthy they'll have a chance. Forte may just end up being the teams leading receiver this upcoming year. Cutler is in for a long year of throwing to TEs, I'll tell you that much.

The Bears were ranked 21st in passing last year with terrible receivers and horrible quarterbacks. Cutler is good enough to bring the numbers up. He has a great arm and can get the ball where it needs to be thrown. When teams try to cheat up and stop Matt Forte, Cutler will be able to have plenty of places to throw the ball. If the Bears weren't in last place last year without having any wide receivers, the future looks even better with a healthy Greg Olsen and Cutler as the starter. He will finish at the bottom of the top ten among quarterbacks in passing.

Assuming he could find ways to get open, Earl Bennett could surprise with Cutler there. He was great as a freshman in college at Vanderbilt, then pretty good the rest of his career. His QB his freshman year was of course Jay Cutler. So they are comfortable with each other, but Bennett has to prove he can do anything.

I don't think in all of my posts i picked who i think will be the best quarterback this year. In my opinion it will be Drew Brees. New Orleans loves to throw the ball and they have plenty of options with which to work. With the only real running back being Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush being best catching the ball out of the backfield, and the Saints probably playing in shootouts most games, i think they will throw it a lot and Brees will end up with the best numbers at the end of the year.
Whether the Saints can make the playoffs or not, well that's a different story.

If I had to start a franchise from the ground up, I'd pick Tom Brady. The kid's won three Super Bowls with hardly any talent on offense [granted, Deion Branch and Troy Brown, as well as Kevin Faulk]. And he did that in essentially his rookie year. It took Manning, what, 7-8 years for a Super Bowl WITH talent on his offense?

However, both Manning and Brady are excellent quarterbacks. I'm a huge Pats fan [have been since the Curtis Martins and Drew Bledsoes of the world] and I have to say that Manning has the stats and looks good on paper, but it really took him some time to get in rhythm last season. Once they beat NE though, they went on to win like 9 straight, only to lose in the Playoffs to the Chargers. The pressure gets to Manning, and really it's lucky he has the one ring he does [since really, the Bears of '06 were a pushover offensively and defensively. Look at who their QB was.]

Tom Brady's the hardest worker in the NFL. And wide receivers would take a paycut just to catch for this guy. I like the way he makes defenses look like little boys playing against the big guys in the four-receiver set. God I can't wait until August.

I agree about Brady winning with lesser talent. But don't overlook the defenses both the Patriots and Colts had in those years. Even the best offense won't win without a defense, and the Colts were bad on that side of the ball most years. Once they finally got that settled a bit, they won one.
