Once every few weeks, I will log on, see if there is a ship nearby to attack just to be a nuisance and then log back off. That's about it.

Once or twice a week I log in, stop mining (cargo full), go to space, land immediately at debran, sell all the stuff for ~1M, go to space, land immediately to one of the three moons and start mining.

It's basically very stupid game 'cause theres not much to do. Loosing interest.

I had two accounts.

The first one saw its only character sent into deep space with $1.2m debt, a few undelivered message sticks, about $68,000 in cash (plus 2 latinum) and the company of some mercenary named Alf Svingen. Together they spend the times that I log in studying the art of navigation, and have now left the solar system headed for some distant galaxy where that loan shark guy won't ever find them.

The other account? Has 3 characters who all have approx $10m to their names, basically from trading some kind of "power core" item and dodging Malus Darrow and his evil crew as best as my attention span would allow. Now those guys (well one was a girl... and another was a... thing) spend their days sitting around on whatever planets I left them on, probably blowing it all on light racers and $1000 bowls of cocoa.

I couldn't be bothered to find out what happened with the two accounts I had.

Any idea where to mine calvaxium? I have two quest for it, but they don't pay enough to buy it from the merchant, much less transport it to where it needs to go.

Ok... So, I hopped back on for a few days this week just to goof around. Calvaxium is supposed to be in the Andromeda Galaxy. I went flying around to see if I could find anything. Eventually, I took the Jumpgate to Festus-d. The marketplace on that planet has a lot of calvaxium which I took to mean someone had been mining nearby and was selling it there. I have been able to find calvaxium so far is one of the Festus-d moons- Festus-d1. After about an hour of mining, I turned up 18 so far. I haven't managed to mine it successfully in any other star system so far. I'll be trying some of the other Festus planets/moons this week to see if there's any luck with them. In all honesty, though, I'll probably buy Elite: Dangerous this weekend off Steam and never look back at Space2200 once I have it.

Thanks, I had finally found it there myself. It's slow mining, but I was able to get enough to finish the quests I had. I found out there's a maximum of 10 quests you can have on your list at any time. So I no longer accept every quest I find. It was nice to be able to get both those quests off the list, I won't be adding them again. Not worth the effort.

Does anybody have a jump drive yet? If so, where can you go with it? I've got a good engine now that will allow me to go to pretty much any planet/moon in Sol, Alpha Centuari, Festus, & Debran. I had hoped that some of the farther planets/moons would offer higher value mining goods, but for the most part, it's the same junk as usual. I'm hoping that once I add a jump drive, maybe I can go to some of those other systems shown on the big map that don't have a chart course (like Cardonal, Granara, etc) and find some goodies. Just wondering if anybody has already tried this and whether it works. Basically, just wondering if I'm working towards wasting my efforts or if there might actually be something worthwhile there.

It would be nice if space2200 had it's own forum for players to ask questions. Kind silly that players would need to go to one of Melderon's other games for any kind of forum.

I'm not sure yet if you can get to those systems by jumping or not. They once posted a picture of a planet from Cardonal, and to me it looked like it was supposed to be inhabited with at least an outpost. However, when inspecting those planets, none of them are listed as populated. I guess I won't know for sure until I get a jump drive. I do want to check out Proxima Centauri C, though. It is listed as having no population, but it does say Terrestrial (Animal Life).

Well, I went to one of those system, but regular flight. Ran out of fuel shortly after leaving the originating system, still made it to the other system, landed on a planet, mined until full, then lifted off and currently on the way back to the originating system, still with no fuel. It took an extremely long time to make the trip. Something like a week or so.

The trip was from Alpha Centuari to Proxima Centauri. I chose to land on Proxima Centauri C, the planet listed as Terrestrial (animal life), to see if there was anything interesting about it. Mined normal stuff, both minerals and gas there. Nothing new or interesting about the planet.

I've been playing this game a while now, mostly because it doesn't take much time to run through what's needed. I have to wonder though, if there are any plans for updates. This has gotten very boring, mining, selling, occasionally making some trade runs when I find a good deal. I've already bought everything available to buy. Eventually, I'll have enough latinum to buy a bigger ship, but then it's still back to the same old stuff. Sure, I could attack others, but I can actually get more mining and trading than I get from stealing. So the only enjoyment from attacking in my opinion is just so I can be a douchebag towards someone else. Not something I find interesting. The only thing I thought might be interesting left was the other star systems that we had yet to be able to visit, however after a visit to what was potentially the most interesting planet, and it turned out to the same as all other non-populated planets. I see no further reason to continue.

Oh well, another game with tons of potential gone to waste.

Thought I'd check in to see how the space expedition was going - I've almost arrived at the Veridia galaxy, well ahead of the projected 2020 arrival date!

The only reason I chose to fly there was because (at the time) it was an unfinished galaxy on the map, and I wanted to see if it would be completed by the time I arrived.

It's been 18 gruelling months of essentially transporting some poor hired mercenary out to the furthest reaches of the universe. I sure hope the journey has not been in vain.
