Hi guys, I'm trying the Space 2200 too, unfortunatelly I am not doing so good. I was with about 100k and during some mining over Jupiter moons, I landed twice in one that ask 50k for mining. I'm really upset that there is no short notice before landing and after that you need to pay of it. So everyone who pass by Jupiter take care. Now I have less than 5k and struggling to get some money. Any advice on how to do it faster?

I gave up, money was too slow to get and most of my trading resulted in losses. It's quite difficult to keep up with the buy sell price for everything on every planet. Every time you think you have a good deal, it's not available on that planet. Mining is probably the way to go, but I couldn't figure that out at all. I have not logged back in, hopefully I'm soaring through space and evading the thug I borrowed money from

Just hang out at Jupiter and mine after equipping your ship with a couple of guns. Occasionally, pop out of mining to see who is around and attack any ships flying by because any ship heading towards the jump gate is guaranteed to have at least an ok amount of credits on them in order to be able to make the jump and guarantee a jump back. Other than that, there isn't much to do at the moment.

I played an app similar to this on my phone a couple of years ago. You didn't play against any people, but there tons of NPCs floating around, and when you won against them you actually got to choose if you wanted to keep your ship or take over theirs.

Which guns did you fit? I add 3 of the basic 90k ones (and a mid-level scanner, which incidentally doesn't appear to show me anything more than when I had nothing fitted) and have attacked a ship but the defending ship wins every time!

Started off with that one. Right now, I am using the Ulunda (395K) the AMST Torpedo (295k). Even if you win the gun battle in space, there is still the boarding portion of the fight. If the defender has a better crew, then he will end up winning the battle. He has to win the space battle in order to board you, but even if he loses that and your crew boards his ship he can still "win" by successfully killing your crew with his. He only gets cargo from your ship if he defends well enough to win the space battle and has his orders set to board your ship if he wins those. However, I think he still gets a cut of your credits and some xp by having a successful defense with his crew after you board him. When I started out with the smaller guns, I went ahead and got a good crew over buying the bigger guns. That Firesnake guy was winning every one of our space battles, but my crew was smacking his crew around when it came time for his crew to board my ship. They can scan your ship all day long and plan for the gun fight, but they can't plan for what type of crew you have until they actually attack you and get their butts handed to them for the first time. If you plan on attacking, then you need the guns eventually. If you are more concerned about just being able to defend yourself and your cargo from the start, then getting a good crew is the best place to start off spending credits. Yes, you'll have to repair the ship a bit. However, this costs you nothing but a little bit of time waiting for it to be repaired, and once the attacker realizes they can't beat your crew and thus can not steal cargo or gain xp, they will usually back off unless they are just clueless.

When you go to the market and you are on the screen where you choose between the resource market and the goods market -occasionally there is a weapons/armor dealer on that screen as well depending on which planet you are, in the bottom left hand corner of the market screen there is a "crew market" icon. Hiring crew members does cost credits. However, you are only paying a one-time fee for each crew member. You won't be paying them x-amount of credits every so often. Once you pay their hiring fee, they cost you nothing and they stay with you until you fire them. The stronger you want them to be, the more expensive they are up to the point they start costing credits and latinum. Also, you'll have to add crew quarters to your ship. Once you buy them, you still have to go to your ship's screen, then click on the crew tab. From there, you'll notice any crew member you hired is grayed out. There is a '+' sign on the bottom right corner of each of your crew members picture. Clicking on this will have them join you on the ship. If you choose to embark them, their portrait will no longer be grayed out, and you will notice the other two buttons at their bottom left. Selecting these allows you choose if you want that crew member to be a part of your defense and/or boarding party in combat.

I did all that, it was fun for a few minutes. Sounds like you have a decent grasp of the game. Maybe I will log on again this weekend and see if my ship is still around

I thought I'd check in on my original account - is making good progress deep into space now. According to my calculations, it should arrive at its destination sometime in September 2020. Shine on, you crazy diamond

I've decided to hang up my Combat Boots. I'll revisit it should any dev work ever happen to improve it but I can't face shuttling any more resources for chump change.

I'm having a little fly around looking for any changes. So far I've noticed a couple of extra missions and a lot less traffic.

But yeah - the flying - UGH!!!

Anybody still playing this?

Any idea where to mine calvaxium? I have two quest for it, but they don't pay enough to buy it from the merchant, much less transport it to where it needs to go.
