It was someone with Itch at the beginning of their name (can't remember exactly what it was) so thought it might be you!

Haven't ventured to Mercury yet (haven't found a point to it yet). Been doing runs between Earth, Mars, Ceres and JSS so far, for a pittance a time. Haven't worked out how to mine yet but may try that at some point; see if it's any better than trading!

They may as well not have bothered adding Venus, Saturn, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, their various moons, and 90% of the planets and moons in the other galaxies. Visiting them isn't really feasible given the fuel constraints and lack of things to do outside of mining. You can pretty much get your mining fix at Mercury or Jupiter and it's moons.

The other galaxies are really not worth visiting at this point. I've been to all along the jumpgate line (even Outpost 1 - save yourself the "jumgate" fees, believe me) and none of them have any distinguishing features, let alone the features that can be found exclusively on Earth. No banks, no shady loan sharks, no gambling, no strippers - nothing except spaceports and markets where everything is too high priced to buy, on planets which do so much damage when landing on them. Earth and the nearby inhabited celestial bodies really seem to be the only worthwhile places to hang around, and I use the term "worthwhile" generously.

As such, the time they've spent creating the artwork for each of these redundant planets and the moons seems like a big waste. Only an idiot would travel to Pluto and back, and I'm guessing only one has so far

I have continued playing (I have 3 characters now as well as my original account which has been hurtling in a Voyager-esque fashion past the edge of the Solar system on the way to some other star system for a week now) but the game needs more... I don't know. It needs something more than trading and courier work.. At least have the planets actually follow their orbits and revolve around the Sun for a start, instead of remaining in stationary positions. Hell, let us drop in and play poker against each other or something. Nobody cares about "light racers"... some kind of interactivity other than seeing a yellow flashing blip every so often would be great.

I'd like to think that there will be more to this game beyond the Early Access stage, but if there isn't then I will have no other option but to send all of my characters to the furthest points of the universe. The effort is clearly evident in the artwork, but the gameplay at this stage seems half-assed at best. It reminds me of this other game that I play regularly in a state of blind resignation, knowing that there will never be any improvements no matter how hard I hope for them.

That said, each of my characters (except the abandoned one) makes over a million a day with a minimal amount of work. I've worked out what to buy and when and where to buy it, but it isn't really much fun logging in and following the exact same paths day after day. This is precisely the reason why GoalLineBlitz sucks so much ass. The time spent travelling is by far the most tedious aspect; even moreso when you consider that the planets seem destined to maintain the same distance between each other, never ever moving like actual planets do.

And goddamn, who is this Firesnake guy? Is he an actual player or an NPC? Dude is ruthless! But for all his attacks he doesn't get much out of me, even when I'm hoarding millions of credits and a full cargo-load. I am looking forward to the fugitive-hunting part of the game, but it doesn't appear to be anywhere near as lucrative as trading.

In short: it has potential, but boy does it need work.

Well said. I agree with you 100% (including the GLB -stuff)

Guess I'll keep on mining on Alpha Centauri for next .... öööööh... million years or so till something new happens

e: ehh.. I flew to Alpha Centauri H which burned all my fuel. And there is no place to refuel. Guess that was that then. Nice.

Wholly agree; there's potential but it's almost entirely unfulfilled. I'm barely making ends meet at the moment simply because taking the time to work out where to buy something and when to buy it is more effort than I feel it's worth. I'll stick to flying aimlessly around the inner solar system whilst my phone recharges for another Pokémon Go walk!

Just hang out at Jupiter and mine after equipping your ship with a couple of guns. Occasionally, pop out of mining to see who is around and attack any ships flying by because any ship heading towards the jump gate is guaranteed to have at least an ok amount of credits on them in order to be able to make the jump and guarantee a jump back. Other than that, there isn't much to do at the moment.

I played an app similar to this on my phone a couple of years ago. You didn't play against any people, but there tons of NPCs floating around, and when you won against them you actually got to choose if you wanted to keep your ship or take over theirs.

I'm stopping playing this "game" as of now. Just CBA with trading pointlessly in the vain hope the game will get better any time soon. I know it's early release alpha or something but it's barely even a game. Knowing Melderon it'll take years to finish, if it'll ever get finished at all. Will keep an eye on this thread to see if it gets better but no point wasting time now tbh

Which guns did you fit? I add 3 of the basic 90k ones (and a mid-level scanner, which incidentally doesn't appear to show me anything more than when I had nothing fitted) and have attacked a ship but the defending ship wins every time!

Popped over to Mercury, I see you're still loitering! Feel free to not attack me...
