Are you sure? It'd probably be best for you to comprehensively test this and my lads are happy to help out. We promise we'll defend the pass even if you run, to make it fairer...

oh, well that makes it sound interesting. I've talked it over with the coaching staff and we are unanimous on going with the run, so long as you agree to go with a fully bot line up on both offense and defense. Their extensive testing has shown promising results versus the bots. I had no idea they had done so much extensive training on this already

An argument against footwork is that Crespo seems to do fine and his footwork is still in single digits (or it was last season).

True, but that might also explain why Orlando was saying that sometimes Crespo is great and other times he's just so so.
Then again, maybe it's just a consistency thing, I'm not sure how Crespo's consistency stacks up to Phipps'

QB rarely rush. So footwork shouldn't be an issue. Sure if you got multiple main skills in the 20s and you QB is only 27. Sure give footwork a wurl for half a season.Last edited on 2015-12-01 at 0:33
There are three noticeable differences between the 2 QB's. Without divulging actual stats, they are 3 or more points different on Intel and speed. They are 6 pts different on footwork. My thoughts were that intel would make one better on decision making................I can't tell. My thoughts were one is faster speed than the other, which should make him better at evading pressure and sacks..............i can't tell. My thoughts were one is better with footwork, allowing him to get better passes.........maybe. All things the same, Phipps still looks better on paper, but I have to say, I've seen him in TD for some time and also on the NT, he loses big games. Just look at the last NT game, 53% completion with 4 of the best receivers in the game. Of course the defense couldn't stop a beach ball bouncing through the line of scrimmage, so the QB isn't the only oddity about the game

Is footwork is well above single digits. Consistency is one point less than phipps
I'm going off the notes I had from last season when I was NT coach. At that time, both QB's had footwork in single digits and Crespo's was only 2 pts higher than Phipps. Even then, Crespo played much better than Phipps. So I'm not going to be convinced by their current skills that footwork is the difference maker.

There is no doubt on paper, Phipps should be slightly better. In this game, it could just be randomness and Phipps has just been extremely unlucky. Think of all the random factors that come into play on every play. Pass called, OL vs DL chance#1 for pressure, QB vs blitzer to see if there is pressure chance#2, pass play confirmed now we go to zone match up of receiver selected vs defender chance #3, needs to beat 2 defenders chance #4 and #5. Every one of those players also had a roll for consistency for start game rating (all chances to do a bit better or a bit worse, unless they are 20 con). Since primary skills are the most important, I find it hard to believe footwork would be the root cause. Phipps streak of bad luck in game outcomes, could just be a bad run of randomness no different than one team getting a rash of injuries or interceptions, while another team gets none.
