Cardinals, Browns, Patriots, Eagles, Chargers, Titans, Ravens, Redskins, Colts, 49ers, Chiefs, and a handful of others need a good possession receiver. Somebody that can move the chains on a regular basis is always a good option for any offense. Landry's good, not great, but so many teams don't even have a good possession receiver.

That doesn't answer my question. Exactly what value, i.e., draft pick(s), do you think those teams place on Jarvis Landry? What is the Dolphins incentive to trade him away? I guarantee there's not near as much as you think.

and what pick you would be able to get for Landry? maybe a 4th rounder?
I don't think you can guarantee your QB of the future with a 4th round pick!
exactly what team will pay more than that? Landry is a nice player but he does not offer much value to a team other than the Fins. He will be really cheap for a year, but then?
You will have to resign him, so I can't see a team using a high pick on him.
These WRs just signed a new deal:
Sanders (3 years, 33 mil, 27 guarantee)
Austin (4 years, 42 mil, 30 guar)
Keenan Allen ( 4 / 45 / 20 )
Allen Hurns ( 4 / 40 / 20 )
I can't see Landry being cheaper than that, after averaging 90+ catches over three season. He is more proven than Hurns and Austin, more consistent than Sanders and Allen.

Tom Brady was a 7th rounder and so many 1st and 2nd round picks flop. You could get a 3rd for Landry, I think. True, it may not be necessary at all, but to secure enough cash flow to get a consistent threat at QB, Landry is the best deal.

All things considered, Tannehill ain't it.

You guys need to set your head straight. Either Landry is a good player with good value(so why dump him?) or he is an easily repleaceble receiver just good (so why trade him to have little back?).

In these ridiculous scenarios it seems every team is run by morons except the Dolphins who could easily net more value trading this player. In those same scenarios Dolphins get automatically better at the qb position because, you know, of course when you trade Landry you have to start Matt Moore instead of tannehill. Why? Because in the wonderful shangrila the career backup is better than the starter but you can notice that only if Landry isnt in the roster. Makes sense? Of course!

And since the Fins don't have that, trading Landry for draft picks makes sense. Moore is a better overall QB than Tannehill and can make Parker and Stills effective enough for one season. Draft or obtain a young, skilled QB and play the long game. You made Gatr and Sverngold's point perfectly.

So in your mind having belichick and brady is the only way to be successful? Every other team should roll over and trade away players for draft picks?
You are delusional. The continue search of the next perfect quarterback is exactly what brought the Cleveland Browns where they are

Saying Moore is a better player than Tannehill.... Do you even have eyes?

So your logic is basically that since the Patriots hit the biggest draft jackpot of all time, the Dolphins should get rid of a young, cheap wide receiver in hopes of recreating the Patriots' magic?

Just for the record, Brady was a 6th rounder, but I agree with the rest of your posts

My suggestion to get rid of Landry, because I feel he does have value and the Dolphins do have other good receivers on the roster right now. To me he has good value right now, so makes sense. There are a myriad of other posts that either say he is only okay or he is the one of the best in the league. I think he is good, but I also question his 'go to' ability and posted 3rd down stats for all of last year, where he was only coming in at a lousy 10% conversion when catching the ball behind the line to gain. Very poor as compared to others. I think the Dolphins can do better, both with the QB and him, but definitely make moves to improve the QB play

I think his logic is that to make receivers great, you have to have a good QB (unless you want to keep Tannehill and keep losing), and a good OL. To get the good QB, you have to free up some more cap space than Miami has (yes I know they have good cap room right now) But, along with the QB, bolster the front line.

Trade Tannehill, if anyone will take him, and Landry, because he creates value at his position, which frees up cap space AND gives a chance at a draft pick of worth. Yeah, it could go bad, which falls on management and scouting, but in my opinion, it's the best route forward to better the entire team.
