I told you back at the start of the season, he would pull a Cutler and have fans claiming he is 'the guy' again, before the season is up. You are all fools, but so are all the Bears fans that support Cutler year after year. It's just a management thing. Meanwhile, teams with good management have no problem benching their overpaid QB, even in the midst of a playoff fight. Keep Ryan, I need my laughs throughout the season

So according to you the Houston Texans have good management.
The same Houston Texans who gave ridiculous money to a guy which barely stepped onto the field before and was one of the worste qb in football this season? I want that management! Because you have to throw away 37 millions guranteed just to let another guy start, that is NFL management in a nutshell.

they don't have a solid TE that can run AND catch AND block. Sorry, they have a bunch or onesies. Not good for the next level. As for Landry, he needs to go, done with him too. You're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone. Miami can do better in all 3 of those spots and next season we can talk.

Name me 5 tight ends who can catch and run and block.

Gronkowski

Kelce?

Bennett?

Witten? (can he still run?)

Derrick Henry?

Landry is one of the best players on the team, not even debatable, it's just nonsense to dump your best players if you want to get better.

Wow, what a lame list, did you spend much time on that list? Henry isn't even a TE!!!
Witten is getting up there in age, as is Gates and Davis, so let's just leave those 3 aging giants off the list, even though they all qualify as great tight ends.

I'm shocked you don't have Olsen on that list, he's one of the best. Graham is not on your list, neither is Miller, Walker, Celek or Reed (not a great blocker, but a cover nightmare). Often injured Thomas would be a great pick up. These are just a few. Tampa has 2 great tight ends and they are just across the state, maybe they could lure one of them.

I'm glad you like Landry, I'm not a fan. Yes, he is exciting, but crunch time, not so much. Let me give you an interesting analysis of Mr. Landry and part of this may be on Ryan, but hey, big time receivers do big time things and make their QB look good. This statistic is about receivers catching the ball behind the sticks and still converting on a third down play when targeted behind the line on 3rd down. Landry on average was targeted at -7.5 and managed an average of 4.3 yards after catch per completion and a 10% conversion rate for all of last season. Not good at all and near the bottom of top recievers. Let's compare to some other receivers near the top:
Beckham, avg depth on targets -4.0, avg yards after 5.1, conv %55.6
S. Smith, avg depth on targets -1.8, avg yards after 3.9, conv %55.6
J. Reed, avg depth on targets -5.2, avg yards after 7.6, conv % 54.5%
S. Johnson, avg depth on targets -6.3, avg yards after 9.4, conv %50

Miami needs to address the QB position in the off season, they've needed to for a while. However, if they draft a QB, give him a year behind Moore and I think you'll have a decent starter. Will have to see how the draft board shakes out too.

Moore's not "the guy." He's too old. But he has a year left in him to shepherd in the future. Heck, even a free agency pickup at QB, for a young talent might be worth a shot.

I think the same could be said for the money Miami wasted on Tannehill or the money the Bears wasted on Cutler and there are many other examples. I do give props to the Texans for benching their lame QB and to their credit, the back up did quite well. But hey, Miami's back up did quite well too. Many teams drop a lot of money on lame QB's, just look at the Browns and Manziel. Too funny, lots of good QBs, just few great ones and it takes great ones to be in the hunt year in and year out. Ryan getting injured was the best thing to happen to the Dolphins all season.

Take a cue from New England and see that dumping receivers works just fine, if you have a great QB. Just send in the next group and go to work. It's the buy low, sell high theory, that Landry would have fit into this season just fine, but that's just my opinion

This goes into the discussion of coaching ability too. NE has an outstanding coach and an elite QB, which goes far in the NFL. NE's ownership also lets the coach run the team.

Miami coaches...dunno...ownership is a problem. Either coaches, or ownership limited the touches and plays for Lamar Miller at RB and he stunk up the joint. Now he's running for the Texans and had a great year. Miami can't seem to get out of their own way and I think there's a disconnect between ownership and coaching that is a source of problems for the club. Doubtful its coaching as much though, because they've gone through a few.

If they land an elite QB though, and a coach that stands up to management, long enough to cobble together a winning season, they might be on the right track. Tough row to hoe though, but this year might help, if they get to the playoffs.

Olsen cant block to save his life. Graham thinks that "block" is a basketball stat.
Zach Miller can run and catch but is still raw. He isnt a good blocker.

Delanie Walker is the only very good all around tight end you mentioned.
It is probably the toughest position to find a really complete player. There arent many. To suggest Dolphins MUST find a complete tight end to be more competitive is ... I dont know how to put it in words.

If having a great year means getting regularly 20 carries a game and barely cracking 1000 yeah he had a great year. And how great, with 5 TD.
He has yet to match the yards total he made for us in 2014 when he carried the ball 50 times less. He was also more productive overall in Miami with 10 and 9 total TDs in the last two seasons compared to 6 this season, was also more productive in the passing game. All that despite being underused.

To have a comparison with current Miami Dolphins RB Ajayi he started 4 games less and trails him by 60 yards. With 2 more TD. almost a yard of ypc difference.

On a side note the idea that ownership can limit the touches given to a runningback is funny

Wow, the last two posts are so laughable, there really is no response. Tannebomb needs to go, Landry needs to go, they need to get their O-line healthy and stop the crappy penalties, which gets back to coaching. Their defense has been a pleasant surprise, as has their back up QB. Management has always been an issue with the Dolphins, so that won't likely change. Need to have the right coach that can work with management like this and draft a bit better. See Dallas to correct those issues. Hey, they still have a shot at the playoffs

Moore isn't a surprise, he has always been the same, he just got an opportunity(and a very, very good coach in Adam Gase). If Landry goes away, who do you throw the ball to ?

Derrick Henry as a TE was a joke (good one, though)
