Either way te point of the hockey post is that coaches in every sport(I know for sure football and hockey as those I play) preach aggressiveness

But there's a huge difference between aggressiveness and playing fairly, and hurting people on purpose, and that's what you don't seem to get. either that or you're just trying to be a hard man on the internet

you find me any coach that tells their players to go and hurt and injure people on purpose and you'll find a coach that is afraid he and his team aren't good enough to win fairly

Suh's big money isn't for dirty plays. It is to make tackles and sacks. He has done little of the later. If the Dolphins wanted a dirty player, they could find any chump on a rookie $110K contact. Suh's dirty plays don't interest me. Nor is it of any importance in the large scheme of things. His tackles and sacks are important. Or lack there of from a $112M 6 year contacted player.

But again, Suh isn't the only problem. There are a lot of big contact players on both sides of the ball not earning their keep. They now have a HC to put them all in their place. Hopefully now they play to their potentials.

That's the only one I could think of off the top of my head, and yes, it was Williams that apparently created the scheme and Payton and Loomis who covered it up

I'd be more worried about people like Cameron Wake in terms of production at the moment, but his salary is about a third of Suh's, so he gets less attention. Still a lot of money for 0 tackles and sacks though! Suh is never topping the scak charts, and is doing so-so this season in tackles (think he has 9 solo and a handful of assists), but he's also a gap stuffer and a drawer of double teams to open gaps for LBs, so he always has some worth outside of the stat columns. That being said, too much money just for a fat gap filler for me, but as you've said PR, he definitely isn't the only issue.

Interested to see what Carpenter does with them, but he's obviously offensively minded so I think he will need a lot of help to sort that D out (and probably even more to sort the shitty O out)

If you think suh should be kicked out if the league before Greg hardy you may have a mental disability

Who even mentioned Greg Hardy or any kind of ranking of dirty players with Suh at the top?

It's hard to say...........either flames mentioned it first or all people "who may have a mental disability" thought of it, but didn't write it in this thread. Take your pick

You all missed it in the game tapes! Go and watch some game tapes.

Neither suh or hardy will be kicked out of the nfl, that's just fact. But you guys say suh is an absolute abomination to the sport or some shit, yet there are people with actual problems that in some ways actually should be kicked out of the league, off field or on field. Suh isn't that big of a problem, but everything he does will be blown out of proportion because he is getting paid.

only gatr said anything along those lines, really. you should learn to read all of the posts and not just tar everyone with the same brush because it suits your failing point of view. everyone, including gatr with his point of view, knows that nobody is going to get kicked out of the league, especially for something like stamping on a guy on the ground mid match. even ray rice didn't get kicked out of the league (by the league itself) and he got caught on camera punching his mrs and dragging her around by her hair. the only reason he isnt playing still is that teams dont want the bad press, not the league. all the league wants is money and that's why nobody will get kicked out of anywhere any time soon but i dont think anyone hear is naive enough to think otherwise.

your last point is correct though, people will make a bigger deal of him doing things like that because of the money; that's just modern day life and media, get used to it. people expect more of people being paid more, that's generally why they're getting paid more in the first place. just imagine if the jags had been deflating balls and still getting panned every week; nobody would care. but because brady and the patriots did it and won the SB, it's a whole shit storm that the media feed on. the jags doing something doesn't make anyone bat an eyelid, the pats and brady do, same goes for suh and his huge pile of money.

Yes, I generally agree with this post. It's my opinion Suh is a thug and I don't respect him. Big deal, every fan is entitled to their opinion. Both he and his team are underperforming in a major way. If I were the commish, then I simply indicated how I would clean up the league. I could care less about the money side, which is all the NFL really cares about. The fines for Suh and most other NFL players are a joke and not a deterrent. They are just a way for the NFL to feel good for a moment. I have played sports all my life, soccer in college and semi pro for 8 years, minus one year with a broken leg. Flames, you crack me up, but I was your age once, so have at it. You can have your opinion, but it won't help the lolphins, they need some leaders (on the field) to step up. Suh is one of several players that could do this, time will tell, but at the jack he is making, one would expect him to stomp a few of his own players and get them ready to play

Project, since you are good at forecasting dolphins moves, who do you think they should hire as new HC? What should they do?

I actually like Dan Campbell for what he has said recently in the press. Now it is a waiting game to see if it was all talk.

If they Dolphins go .500 for the season, I think they'll keep him around. He doesn't have experience at the HC level, but ex pro players can become very good HCs. There are a few examples around the league. But I think he'll need a very good DC to pair up with to make it all work well.

I think if they go .500, some other good HC potential coach would have to come from left field to get the gig over him.

The organisation is in a weirder place than the bad locker room season. I think it would be tough to call what will happen next. Hopefully they have got their stuff together and they can go and win games.

AFCE is a tough place nowadays. If it was last season, I'd say they can still go 9-7, but Buffalo and NYJ aren't the easy beats they were last year. If the defense can play to its potential and Tannehill doesn't brain fart every game, they might just do it still.

I like Campbell style too, but I think going to .500 with that coaching staff would be huge.
Usually I'm really bad at forecasting everything so I can at least hope this time isnt different but I think we are going to win 5.

On defense I didn't know we had a coaching staff with so little resume especially on defense. There are FCS colleges with a lot more experienced and winning staff. Our DB coach now DC is the same guy who put Brice McCAin on the outside and has CBs allowing short and deep passes to every WR with a pulse so I cant reallly say Im' confident until we start kicking some asses

But there's a flip side to this coin for contact sport.

You show me a coach that tells his players to go out and make a point of hurting no one and I'll show you a team that'll be 0-16 for sure!

Rule #1 - Play good football
Rule #2 - part of rule #1 is scaring the shit out of people

There is plenty to be said for putting a superstar on an opposing team on a stretcher! Or at least scaring the confidence out of them - it's what contact sport is all about.

Some of you guys are trying to defend the indefensible. All this drivel about football being a contact sport and aggressiveness and blah blah blah. There's a large difference between being aggressive and being a piece of shit human who literally assaults people after plays.
