I want to call you a few names that i'd get banned for!
However, I think your situation is much more the norm than mine. I just seem to have terrible luck with injuries and to key players a lot of time as well.

Not really, they are very useful as each level adds:
5% chance to recover 1 additional day
2% chance to recover 2 additional days
2% chance to reduce potential training injuries
So maxed level 20 doctors give an injured player 100% chance to recover 1 additional day and 40% chance to recover 2 additional days during each injury update. They also reduce the potential of training injuries by 40%.
I just seem to be very misfortunate with the no. of injuries I get each season. Other teams with a similar sized roster do not seem to get the same high amount, so my case certainly isn't the norm. Also i'd be really screwed if it wasn't for the quick recovery times from my level 20 doctors, as most of my injured players only end up missing 1 gameweek.
Finally as your a newer manager I wouldn't recommend hiring doctors yet. I'd advise waiting until you've built all exec & VIP seats, coaches and a few facilities as well. Also you have to pay your doctors a signing on bonus so when you do eventually get them go straight for level 20 ($135k bonus & $45k per week wages). If you increase their level in different stages it'll end up costing you more in the long run due to the signing bonus.

No. of injuries: 8

So i've had level 20 doctors for 5 full seasons now (S17-S21). Here's what i've found across those seasons:
No. of injuries: 5 - 8 - 6 - 9 - 8
Average Duration: 18 - 16 - 15 - 11 - 14 (rounded to nearest day)
Averages: No. of injuries: 7
Average Duration: 15
Pre-level 20 docs: No. of injuries: 11
Average Duration: 20
I don't have as much recorded information about injuries from before I had level 20 doctors, although I seem to remember I had a lot in S15 as well. However, if I roughly compare my averages from seasons with level 20 doctors to Season 16 then I could say:
The number of injuries has been reduced by 4 per season
The initial injury duration has been reduced by 5 days per injury
This is obviously very rough and just my team's experience with level 20 doctors.
During this 5 season period the doctors have cost me $4,275,000
However what I haven't recorded is the actual injury duration just the initial duration. I know the durations have been greatly reduced and most players with injuries of an initial duration of less than 20 days usually only miss 1 gameweek.
Ultimately I think the doctors are worth it but I just wish I had fewer injuries each season!
Phiba, here's a suggestion, and I can understand any reluctance to try it, but it might be worth a shot if you have the extra cash. Fire your current doctors and re-hire new ones.
I don't know how this game is programmed, but with all the strange quirks we've already discovered, there's the possibility that an injury algorithm is produced when you buy doctors and you got a bad number. Sounds odd to me, but it's also odd that you have had bad luck on this level for this length of time. Can't say for certain that it would work, but outside of the lost money, it couldn't be any worse could it?
Just an idea.

Yeah that's not a bad idea and I might seriously think about doing it.
So far this season (Fingers crossed , as i've probably just jinxed myself!) the amount of injuries seem to be more in line with what most managers experience. If this reverts back to the old levels then I might fire and re-hire.
