Nothing about this game should be taken so seriously. Put it this way: you were taught a great lesson for the meager price of $ 10,000, which sounds like a bargain...back in the old days, the Romanian that was mentioned earlier in this thread would have ripped you off for $ 4,444,444 or something like that. Who else remembers his crazy prices when he was trying to unload his junk? God, I miss the old days so much that I probably miss the Romanian too...

As others have said, 19 managers out of 20 will be honest with you and will provide you with impeccable information. When you run into some bad apple, get a good laugh and just move on.

Exactly. 95% of the people here are fine.

If you are going to spend more than $3500 on a player just scout him.

Of course, all of this will be sorted when v3 comes out.

Along with safeties, a running game, penalties....

Scouting a player doesn't reveal caps on stats. Unless the game is robust when it comes to deceit about stat caps, then liars will always prosper in this game.

Alternatively, this whole issue could be easily resolved in one fell swoop by revealing caps in scouting reports. It would have the double benefit of meaning admins wouldn't have to keep investigating allegations of deception.

I have never used the scouting function. How valuable is it? Should you scout anyone you are going to bid on? Should you scout someone you are going to spend 10K or more on? Any suggestions?

If you PM a manager enquiring whether a player has caps on speed and strength and they tell you the player has no caps, and when you purchase the player both speed and strength are capped, is there any comeback or is this simply a case of "let the buyer beware"?

Seems a bit of a raw deal, as I have always responded to all queries about the players I am selling honestly.

shame this has happened.

I looked into you team transfers and the players brought, and I saw the Linebacker you purchased for $10,000 on the 27-02-2013, and I seen whom you brought him off. Shame he failed to tell you about the caps correctly.

Every manager is different on this one. To me it depends on your financial situation. At those price ranges I don't bother, but I can give you an example of one I was bidding on today. I found myself starting to get in a bidding war over a 17 yr old free agent with decent physicals and consistency. As the bidding got to 22k I decided to scout him befor getting too carried away, he was 2.5 star talent, I just walked away 20k ahead. On the flip side of this was my other bidding war today. He was unadvertised 17 yr old 4.5 star talent, 20 int, and 20 cons, 16 teamwork. I scouted him around 60k and was in a bidding war up to 6 million befor losing that one.

For the record, some of us (including my good old self) suggested that the Supporter account should enable you to see the caps while scouting a given player. IMHO this sounds like a nice incentive to become a Supporter: you get a little extra for the money you spent but for sure it is not the kind of massive and unbalancing advantage that would put non-Supporters out of contention. Much more useful than cheerleaders, flags and all that fluff if you ask me.

It goes without saying that the Admins did not listen, even though it was something that made perfect sense from their standpoint (assuming they care about selling some more Supporter accounts obviously).

They would have to change their rules first. No advantage in game for supporters...btw this rule is BS already, since Supporters know about training details as example...

My suggestion is consistent with the advantages a Supporter already gets. A Supporter has the possibility of knowing immediately the caps of the players he is training, so in a similar fashion he should be able to see the caps of the players he is scouting as well. A non-Supporter will have to find out about these caps the hard way in both instances. Simple as that.
