Yup seen the previous multiple rounds on this issue. I have never seen my suggestion before or seen a member use it or similar before this thread.

Lots of name calling and abuse has been seen before, and that has been delt with by the mods. And so it should, it violates the game rules. But my suggestion does not violate the game rules.

It really gonna depends on whether we as a community want good clean moral playing supporters or cheating non supporters playing the game more.

As a moderator, your job isn't to prevent a 'what if' is it?
As a moderator, you are there to edit/delete/move/lock posts and threads if they breach the game rules.

You are basicly censoring freedom of speech editing a post if no game rule was breached. And as per freedom of speech law, or even just plain old G-I game rules, there was no racism, slander, abuse or complaint about a player, no accusation of cheating or similar within the edited post.

Maybe some common sense needs to be applied here.
In order to identify the Manager, all anyone needed to do was to read the very first post of this thread, look at the date of this post, look at the recent transfer history and then it becomes very very obvious which transfer the original poster is not happy about.

So .. in order to be consistent, you would've needed to remove the original post as this indirectly identifies a manager ("to prevent a person from being identified" ) ... but removing the original post makes no sense as no rules were broken in the original post.

Seems somewhat inconsistent that indirect identification is OK but direct identification isn't .... maybe the motto of the story is ... just be very very clever with your choice of words.

I started this thread seeking clarification as to what the rules are on lying.

Having read all the above posts and the interesting points they raise, I think I'm less clear on what precisely is and is not permissible than I was before my first post.

Can I respectfully suggest that to clear this matter up once and for all, the game administrators make an official statement, and perhaps release it as a sticky on this message board, and/or provide an update in the game rules?

I don't want this to create a bad atmosphere as much as anyone else and would like to see this resolved constructively.
