I am setting up my offensive and defensive formations for the first time and had a couple of questions:

1. Is playing with 2 WRs, 1 HB (center), 1 FB (center - for blocking) & 1 TE okay?

2. I see people talking about using 2 TE's (for better a better rushing attack) -- are they going with 1 WR then or scratching the FB?

3. Which basic defense is stronger in Grid Iron -- 4-3 or 3-4? Does it depend on the team I'm playing?

4. Should I just play my safeties on the right and left or doesn't it matter?

1. Yeah, for sure. Different formations work for different users!

2. Usually they scrap the Fullback

3. It depends on both the team that you are playing and what works for you. If you have four super tackling Linebackers and only have a handful of Defensive Linemen, play 3-4. On the contrary, if you have four strong Defensive Linemen go for 4-3. Look at your team, and play to your strong points.

4. If I play two safeties, one Full and one Strong, I will play one left and one right. If I play one, or two of either Full or Strong, I will position them centrally.

Ofcourse, this is only my take on it all

Use whatever formation you like on offense I, proset, wishbone, spread, 2 te's, singleback, etc. go by the strengths of your players. Chances are this early in the game your running attack will be better than the pass so format for a strong running attack.

As for defense, like noted above about rushing attacks, defend to stop the run first. As for the Safety's, I personally split them.

I've experimented a little with a wishbone with no WR and 2 TE's lately. So there are a lot of possibilites for an offensive formation, and you just have to find one that you like and works for your team, especially against human opponents.

yup, there are some wierd formations rolling around the leagues. A triple fullback twin TE set, a 4 WR 2 te 3 O-lineman set (gi's version of the A-11 I guess ) and all sorts of defensive wierdness

Someone in our league played a 5-4 defense last week. He lost.

I saw a euro-balkan team that is pretty good defensively that is running a 5-4-2 with only one CB and making it work. But you never really know in leagues that aren't facing traditional offenses.

So does the safety cover a 2nd WR, but usually is in run support?

a strong safety has a chance to enter run support earlier but a greater chance of giving up the big pass play.

I just realized you meant in the crazy euro-d...No idea how that works. I like to call it magic
