There is a lot of that here in GI, but in real life only goal line defense uses 5 down lineman.

There's the 5-2 formation, it just isn't used very much. I still see it in high school quite a bit(my old high school still uses it) but you will only see it in extreme situations in college and pro due to the passing game.

Wait, so if you play 4-3, don't blitz, and don't play zone, then you have 7 guys covering 5 eligible recievers?

depending on how you run it yes. Offset I gave me offensive issues probably due to my FB being not as good as my primary back. Power I with twin TE's and single WR really worked for me rushing but passing seemed to be off. I have not tried traditional I formation with two WR's and a single TE.
