i guess it's the ability to dodge enemys defenders, important for running backs, quaterbacks and a little bit for wide recievers.

I thought this also. It seems to be that my Running Back who has a high skill in footwork, has more yards than my other Back - Both have similar stats.

You could argue that it is also needed for Linemen? - In terms of footing etc. I'm not too sure though.

Suggestions welcomed!

Footwork should be important for a lot of positions, Cornerbacks need good footwork to backpedal and turn to cover recievers. Lineman on either side of the ball need good footwork to maintain balance and get leverage in blocking/attacking. RB's need goot footwork to make their cuts, as do WRs, QB's need good footwork to get the most out of their pass. so there's a lot going on that "could" be affected by footwork.

Well i think the footwork skill is like the Intelligence as its used by all spots and help the player preform a lot better at his position than people who are lower in the needed stats for all spots

Footwork, vision, and intelligence to me are all attributes that are used by everyone. Everyone needs to be able to move well, everyone needs to be aware of what's going on, and everyone needs to be able to see what's going on.

And what about positioning? Maybe good for blockers? People trying to get in the way of the ball? Everyone on the D?

Yeah I forgot about positioning. That's pretty important for most or every player as well.

I'm just try to use the "All skills" training as much as possible. That way, all of your skills go up in that area and you get 100% training points from training.

Sure, you gain some skill levels that you do not really want, but these could be useful when the game gets a little more complex. For example: Running Backs do not catch the ball at current, in the future they may do so!

The problem is you might get a few points in passing as well to your WRs or TEs, or a point in tackling to your OL, your punter might be getting more points in kicking, your kicker at punting....... I use the focus on, since it allows me to better shape my player
Still, I dont use focus when training my DL, fitness (at some players) and tactics.
