as far as Rbs are concerned, physicals dont matter(if at all they do) as much as their primary skills. As an example 1.25-1.5 in carrying outweighs 4.5 skill points each in speed and strength.

Agreed. Although what one needs to remember(especially younger teams), is that physicals can't always be trained more, so getting someone with at least average pysicals(11+) is important.

The simple question to ask is that
Does player with high speed perform better than an equally skilled player (in all other categories)?
the answer to that question is pretty conclusively no

evidence please? becasue im quite happy saying that if you have 2 IDENTICAL RB's with only speed being different, if one has 20 speed and one has 10, the 20 will perform better...

Ill provide evidence from my team and im sure others will have the same

In the DE position
my agility DE with only 11 speed always performs as well or better than my Speed DE with slightly less agility and a lot more speed (17 speed)

my RB, i used to have a strength rb and a speed rb (only have the strength guy now) and the strength rb always, and i literally mean always had higher stats than my speed rb. Agility and str imo play a bigger role. the biggest role though i think would have to be the oline

my WR, this position i scout the most on other teams and i can tell you with GREAT confidence that most of the top WR share 1 thing in common
CATCHING. Different coaches value different things in a WR but all the good ones have high catching. What separates players of the same catching is usually STR, NOT speed. Str turns catches into TDs.
same thing applies for my TE. My TE has the most LONG td plays on my team and he only has 12 speed. his strength is what gets him those tds

Speed wont alter a game. thats what im trying to get across
Passing will 100% alter the game
Catching will do that
Tackling will do that
positioning may or may not be big in the game
str is the same as positioning
but speed does not alter a game

let me remind you what you said....

"Does player with high speed perform better than an equally skilled player (in all other categories)?
the answer to that question is pretty conclusively no"

non of what you have said supports that... yes speed may not be as good as strength.. BUT as i said quite clearly...

"with only speed being different, if one has 20 speed and one has 10, the 20 will perform better..."

so.... speed may be a minor factor in some cases, but it is a factor, its just that strength may be more so...

non of what you says supports the

"Does player with high speed perform better than an equally skilled player (in all other categories)?
the answer to that question is pretty conclusively no"

comment...

you may want to change quite what you are saying... strength better than speed.. ok...

but there is no evidence that in IDENTICAL players with ONLY speed being different, that speed does nothing..

so you would be quite happy having a team with speed at 8 across the board? and you never train speed?

I would rather have a team with 10 or so speed
i would train it when i train fitness but i would not necissarily train speed by itself with my current team

if i had only a team of 8 i would train it to 10-12 or so after the other stuff

i said i would train it AFTER the other stuff
fitness is what i train when i dont want to increase a players wage
i put it in fitness and it just trains speed

in that case shouldnt u try to train stamina/strength instead of speed
