Heres another interesting recent thread about defending:
http://grid-iron.org/index.php?page=community&subpage=viewt&t=5121&start=20

Until recently the toughest defence I played against used 3DL, 5LB, 1FS and 2CB (Badgers). This pretty much shutdown my double TE passing attack.

Then against Mirastar in the cup my passing was again shutdown.
He played 3DL, 3LB, 3FS and 2CB. I passed for considerbale yardage but could only get one big TD play.

So 2 very different formations were effective against the same offense formation pass attack. As has been said elsewhere maybe it's the defending players that matter more than the formation?

The 2DT, 5LB, 2FS and 2CB defence I suggested is a hybrid between the two defences described above. I think 2DT would work better than 2DE as DTs seem better against the run and no DEs means more QB pressure from the LBs. Note that in a 5LB defence there is considerable QB pressure from the MLBs as well as the OLBs.
I'm not sure I have 5 LBs good enough to try this against a good team yet though.

My bad, I read that wrong. I've never tried 2 DTs to my knowledge, but I did attempt a defenses with 2 DTs and a NT, didn't work for me as I have good pass rushers who never had a chance to sack the QB due the game engine. In the next one it might(should) be different, so fingers crossed there.

You should be mad at peter, because he tried a crazy formation. Now I know, if have a more balanced offense that won't work, so if you try a weird formation than my rushes will be very effective.

Now I am the bad boy, only because your offense wasnt able to make some more points against my very common 2-9 defense...

The first time I scored 17. The second time, VS your 2-9, I scored 21. If I was Willmers I'd quit because you fail to give him the credit he so deserved. He should leave for a more classy owner, like me.

There we go, 5 YP/C against a 3-4. Wonder what defense my RB will feast upon tomorrow.
