If I want to cut wages, what is the best method to select players that want to keep or release? And how many players should I have?

What I could do is to select a player for every position needed to have a legal formations and special team players, and then guess how many injuries there will be during the season.
Or I could drop every one who is 25 or older, then drop a few least talented players and finally drop players with least team work.

What do you think, are the maximum values even important when determinig who is to be out? Or should I compare just the starting values and team work abilities?

Almost the way I did it, except I am not that fussed about team work. I rather want good consistency and intelligence. This is a long term plan.

i'm cutting back on wages by firing players that aren't good in any positions. Then i get my players that are all around and they play 2 positions(usually offense and defense) it really cuts back on wages and i have good players for every position.

I wouldnt recommend playing a player @ 2 positions unless the positions are CB and CBST or K and P

that's easy toexplain
1.) if a player plays two positions, he gets exhausted faster, and therefore performs at a lower leve lat both positions.
2.) if you play a player at two different position (except punter and kicker, or cornerback and special team cb), he only gains positional rating at one of those two positions. the exception, as stated previously is kicker and punter and CB and STCB. if a player plays both those positions, he can gain positional rating for both. also, exhaustion isn't as big of a factor.Last edited on 2009-11-22 at 16:41

I haven't seen any proof of this to be honest.

The second reason is spot on and reason enough to not play players multiple places.

If a player plays say OT and DT, will he gain full positional rating for both positions? Equal as if he would had played only one position?

Remember, we are talking about cutting the wages by 50 %.

you didn't quote me right .. i said that the exception was kicker and punter, and CB and STCB. if you read this before the quotation, it will be clear that this only works for those positions, and NOT for OL and DL.
