I have been reading through the forums, and maybe I am mistaken, but from what I have seen, a player doesn't always get put in his best position, or you can train him up to be a better player at another position? Did I misunderstand this or is this how it works?

And if this is the case, then how would you go about changing his best position to the one you want it to be? Like my one of my WR's next best position is listed as Safety, if I wanted to make him a safety, I would need to train what? Then would he be listed as a safety or as a WR?

All you have to do to change a player's position is play them in the position you want them at for a while. After a period of time(varies for each player based on how experienced he is at each position) he will automatically change to the position.

Keep in mind there is a small penalty to his skills when doing this, but from what most of us have found it's not enough of a penalty to not do it.

Skills training has nothing to do with position changes, only playing games at the wanted position matters. Eventually the player will adapt through experience and the wanted position becomes his natural position.

Also you can monitor the progress through the two other "levels" when the player starts to understand the position and it appears in the "He can also play adequately as" or "If really needed, he can also step in as".

Remember that players playing out of position doesn't play to full potential, but in the long run it is worth grooming them into their best roles on the team.

makes sense to also train them in the required skills for that position however that will have no influence on the actual designated position changeover

If you were brand new,you could look at the skillset of all your players.
Then look for the best position for your players skills.
The strongest in the line, the one with most passing, Vision, IN
to QB and so on. Then let them Play for awhile. This improves the rating
the expierince and the chemistry.

When you get new players you can do that too.
Since you are a supporter, look for the training details
and try to train the skills with the most progress first.
then start training for the position skills.

I've read already plenty of times, that position will changes
- after of number of game
- it depends on the experience of the player
- it will eventually change
... and other even more vague explanations.

My question is if anyone can provide any quantative information concerning it. How many games a player need to play, before his position is changed? I didn't track my players when they started to play, but now I have few players, whose game positions I need to change. In one case I a player didn't get ANY position experience after three games. Not even "If really needed, he can also step in as".

It is very different from player to player and there is no precise formula to calculated it with. One player might change after one game and another might play 20 games without changing. I know this doesn't help you one bit, but at least everybody is in the same boat.

Hei Jesper. Thanks at least for that, it's kind of consoling.
