Gutted about this a little. It makes the game more realistic i suppose, but for a small club trying to find his way, these youth players can be a god send.

Thats right but the market was dead. Now there should be more bidding on other players to make your team better. Most owner just buy players if they have no other choice or if they can get one player very cheap.

I had to buy most of my better players from the market. I have had some good youth and not so good youth pulls.

For me it is:

I had to buy all of my better players from the market. I didn't find good youth pulls, only not so good youth pulls.

The only thing I am worried about is that new managers will have to buy players to improve their team to become a contender in their league, thereby leaving a smaller amount of money to expand the stadium with.

What, improve their team versus bots?

my league - in my first season, has a very competitive 4 sides.

I have had one good youth pull - a 1.5 star qb with 4 star talent (and thus hopefully some good potential therefore). It just seems as a new player i am reading very conflicting views. Most people are saying we shouldn't go into the transfer market and should nurture our young talent, yet then i find this news on youth pulls because we arn't spending money.

The reason i see for the market being dead is because money has become less readily available - therefore players are being less care free with there money!!

while i wont brag on saying the youth pulls gave me superstars but most of my young guys came from youth and just trained the over the course of 2 seasons i wouldnt think that people would just sign up and have a Iron Bowl contender right away

Just like Mike Shula.

Although Saban did pretty soon.

I've had a few good youth players who are now either starting or provide quality depth for me. Really that's what it's there for. It's not meant to get you immediate starters. It's meant to help you build for the future and give you players that, if trained correctly, could start in 3 or 4 years.
