Hi all,
Is it possible to really close down a team that you know will run the ball and if so, how ? Is there an ideal formation for defence ?

Thanks
Darren

dont use corner backs and try to add as many DT and LB and SF as possible

It's not clear that this strategy will work, as at least in the description, it only takes a miss by 1 DL, 1 LB, and 1 CB for a guy to break it all the way. To me, the best strategy would be to just make sure that your DT and LB are your best defensive players against him, rather than playing your best guys at CB.

If I had to guess at a formation, I believe it would be adding and extra LB, rather than an extra DL.

Does it make any difference to use inside linebackers as opposed to outside linebackers ?

Start out with a 4-4-3 defense if you want.

----------------ss----------

cb-----rolb--mlb--mlb-----lolb----cb

---------rde--dt--dt---lde-------

here you will have a good run defense without making your pass defense weak and vulnerable.

What does the lack of a FS mean in terms of the pass defense??

Because there are only two tackles on pass plays it should not be so much! Most tackles on pass plays were made by CB and LB, at least in my games

Played it my last couple of games against human opponents. I'll add that these opponents did not have a strong passing game, so against the run it works great, for me anyways.
