I think I jinxed myself with the rivals thread. Was just writing about how the last few seasons (every one from season 14 onwards), my cup season has always ended with a game against the Wildcats. Usually in the final (where I've botted one, and won the rest), but in season 15 at the same point of the competition as now (and I lost that one).
The stars are aligning! Build the Blacktown to John Anderson Stadium Expressway now!

From the beginning, the Behemoths road in the Cup has always ended at John Anderson. Thats from season 15! I repeat, Go Jinx!! just for a change of pace..
You still have to get past the Trons, that's not a given..

Haha thatd be at least another 40 seasons away from completion.. we'd be better off relocating...

Very true! But there's that change of pace... at this point even a loss would be celebrated over a win with a trip to John Anderson the following Wednesday

Your team needs one of these for those regular trips north.

The John Anderson is always welcoming to all visitors. Behemoths are our favourite visitors though.

True but isnt there more benefit for the runner up if Jinx get the TD/Cup double?
Yeah, that was my point. If you stay out of the Jinx' half of the draw then you're 2 wins from the AFLC if they make the final!
Knowing my luck, the cats will win when I don't want them to instead of 2 weeks ago in league.
or
Jinx win and I get to play them in the semis!

Well done to the Bananas and Barbarians on getting this deep also.
Match of the round is obviously Cats vs Jinx but the 'trons vs 'hoths game is just as intriguing - can't wait!

I guess my post sounded a bit more dire then I meant it to be. Most of those campaign endings with a match against the Wildcats were in the final (and would have ended win or lose as they did). Just a funny streak is all, we've almost entirely been able to keep on the opposite sides of the draw for many seasons now.
Either way, it'll be a good challenge, but what I'm most pleased about are a whole bunch of other teams also stepping up. The structure of the cup means it quite possibly could be anybody's, and I think that leads to great stories.
