And Suh looks like he finally is playing with effort to win. Only took 20 games.

I've had enough of discussing Tannehill and I just laugh at all the comments about him here but this about Suh caught my eye.

I'm curious: you dont watch phins games, you dont look at line play or you just wanted to say something? Suh has played lights out since he is here except for maybe a couple of average games. The difference is someone else is playing around him too.

The fact that most of your post contains personal barbs at another poster highlights you inability to debate a point with real facts. Someone offering opinion doesn't require personal barbs.

Suh has only been playing lights out of the past few weeks. But his average is better that most other's good. Maybe this is what you are seeing, good line play. But that isn't Suh's full potential. I'm starting to see him play at "his" good. Which is like an 11 out of 10. Someone whom doesn't understand good line play may not have noticed this.

have you heard of pro football focus by any chance? they are a pretty good website that rates the performances of all the players and are featured in the player introductions on sunday night football. suh was a top three defensive tackle last season, and i believe he is this season as well but i dont have a subscription so i cant look.

He most definitely is top 3. But that isn't the point I made.

It isnt personal.
A lot of posters here like to throw jabs at the phins, and that's fine. This thread is 83 pages long not because of having a lot of people interested in the phins here. It's more that some posters like to laugh at phins and Tannefail (or Tanneclutch), mixing that with some nonsense like "I would be happy if they started win but....". I had the feeling some posters (I dont know if you are one of these) liked arguing with cflames because he is not very good at defending himself, he exposes himself too much, he is probably young and it's easy to look good discussing with him.

I'm not cflames though and I just fight fire with fire. I like to discuss posts with real facts or documented opinion, for example when Labianca opened a serious discussion about 2 QBs system I was the only one offering a serious answer with a sense and arguments. If your argument is "Suh just started to play with effort" without further elaboration I will handle it for what it is.
My honest guess was you dont watch many dolphins games (understandable, I dont watch many other teams games because I have a work and a life) but it's entirely possible and not an offense if someone doesnt understand line play and doesnt recognize the effort it takes to play routinely 80% of defensive snap when you are double teamed all the time but you still split some double teams and make plays. I follow Suh since his college days and I know how dominant he is. Last season the 2nd game against Buffalo he had a game for the ages but it went unnoticed because we lost 33-17 in a game where I think Watkins caught every ball thrown his way and there was literally no one giving a hand in some way.

Now the difference is the others. Wake is on the field, Branch is playing well, Phillips needs to be accounted for, doesnt get himself out of plays, Mitchell is blowing up some plays the last two weeks... Alonso is a competent player instead of Sheppard who was just bad. Add some coaching and not playing a vanilla defense all the time and you get the picture. That's the difference. Suh effort is and was always there. When he makes mistakes (very few) is actually for putting too much effort and vacating proper lanes especially against the run

Beware from ProFootballFocus. They traded speed for accuracy recently, their grades are suspect most of the time. How can you have the grades out one hour after the game is over (sometimes even real time) and pretend to be accurate .

Most hilarious post ever, I almost spit my food out while reading! Be cautious of those that defend their position with the use of the word 'I' excessively. Pretty sure he meant, selective facts and his opinion

Tanneclutch - Wasn't he ever last weekend. I'm still trying to figure out why he had 37 yards after 50 minutes. And somehow lead two scoring drives to finish the game off. Finishing with 200+ yards. WTF?

p.s. I knew that cos I watched the game last weekend. haha

He can get away with that kind of ridiculous inconsistency against the schedule they have had for the last 5 weeks and this weekend coming up too. He literally shifts from worst QB ever to superman. It will be interesting to see how the Dolphins close out the season as the schedule gets considerably tougher after this weekend:

Ravens
Cardinals
Jets
Bills
Patriots

Could very well go 1-4. I like their defense chances to do better, but they won't get away with 50 mins off in these matches on the other side of the ball

Jets are likely the easiest of those 5.

The rest are in the top 15 for pass defenses for yards per game and per attempt, which should really challenge the Dolphins QB. In terms of defense efficienty, Arizone is #3, Ravens are #4, Bills and Pats are middle of the pack. For pressure, Arizone and Buffalo are both top 5 in sacks and the Jets are #1 in INTs. Again, compared to the 6 week stretch they are finishing up, it's considerably tougher. Hope I'm wrong, but I see a potential problem here
