Dolphins need to improve their defensive backfield before Tannehill ever wins a Superbowl. The Dolphins are not the 2002 Buccaneers with so much defensive talent that any QB could have won it that year. Dolphins need some pro bowl calibre cornerbacks and safeties before they win any championships with their current QB.

Whilst I agree they need to improve their DBs overall, Brent Grimes is a Pro Bowl calibre DB.

Dolphins are still NOT in position to talk about what they need to be a superbowl team but that has little to do with quarterback play. They just haven't been a superbowl organization recently.

They might be playoff contenders this season, that would be good, but they need developement and experience overall.

Grimes and Reshad Jones are probowl caliber players in defensive backfield but the team will need to replace Grimes soon.

Sometimes people think to go to the superbowl you gotta have a top 3 quarterback OR an amazing defense but there are not just two ways to do it.

Baltimore had a good balance when they won the superbowl but werent best in the world on offense or defense, 49ers had a slightly better defense and unorthodox but effective QB when they almost did it, Eli Manning won 2 superbowls without ever being a consesus all-pro and had never been a probowler when he won his first ring but still his defense was good not great with very good line and average-good defensive backfield. Roethlisberger won his first ring with a balanced team without being a probowler.

Dolphins don't have a top 3 QB. Or a top 5, or a top 10 QB, or a top 16 QB. So they better work on their defense.

I agree not a top 10 right now. A top 16 yes though. There is more than 16 starting quarterbacks who are right now worse players than Tannehill. And obviously I hope for improvement. Last season he played better than he is playing now and has been misused some. He is not the problem. Luck is playing way worse than him right now and is not getting bashed a bit.

Plus I have a consideration: you might not have a top quarterback talent-wise (or in a vacuum) but what is important is to squeeze out top play from what you have and that can be done in multiple ways, by scheme or by surrounding that QB with a nice pool of talented players.

Tannehill sucks.

Jokes aside, ridiculous team performance. On the long Landry touchdown the downfield blocking of the OL was a thing of beauty. Everybody out there kicking some asses.

Whilst I agree it was a monster performance it was only the Texans...

I would have loved to have seen the score if the Dolphins kept their foot on the gas. 26 junk points is still too much.

Even Dan wasn't happen about it. I like Dan. His post game interviews are awesome. He doesn't speak well. But he get the message across. He is more human than most coaches we are used to. Reminds me of Jim Harbaugh. Dan actually make me like the Dolphins. Yuk!Last edited on 2015-10-26 at 10:49

Tannehill looks to have regressed. The slide will need to stop for them to come out on top this season. In saying that. It is easier for a defense to gel than a offense. Plus the defense in this case is the better of the two units.

The second half of the Dolphin schedule is evil. IF they don't play well, they will be hammered. For them, they need improvement in the Texans game, before heading into the real games.

Texans are sure a middle of the pack team but not a doormat till yesterday. Now with Foster gone the season might be gone too, and the coach might be gone.

It's still early but against any NFL team a performance like this is unreal. In the second half they rested most of the starters. Just hope the enrgy carries over to Thursday against the Pats
