If you want to play in the IB, then you must win your group. The winner of each group certainly deserves to play for the IB, I see no reason to turn it into a 4 team playoff

I agree with you, but if there was a playoff it would be much more interesting. You can keep the managers hopes alive of making it to the playoffs, than being on the 3rd place with 5 games to play and knowing you have 0 chance of finishing 1st.
The game was built this way from the beginning and it hasn't changed since, so why should it change now. Right?

Take a look at group B, as example
3. ★ The Philly Special 4-3
4. Rosario Commanders 4-3
5. Blacktown Behemoths 4-3
6. Cluj-Napoca Red Caps 4-3

Next week's games represents nothing for them. If it was a playoff with 4 teams advancing into a KO round, i would bet that will spark some interest.

Would it be possible to have at least 4 teams per group advance to a playoff berth.
I think it will be better than just the group winner to play in the Iron Bowl.
In this way the battle for the first 4 places will be much better.
Just saying.

This would not work, use group B as an example as you mentioned. If it was a top 4 moving forward then after i had gone five and zero i would want to play my training team in the remaining three games(knowing i was guaranteed top four) to get the players and positions trained up quicker(much like what friendly games are used for) this would be unfair on the five teams i had already played and would result in teams making the top four who did not earn it.

I understand where you are coming from though and understand your point of keeping interest if a couple of teams pull away from the others early on.

I don't think so, because playing your backups wouldn't guarantee the win and maybe you'll lose the 1st place. Losing 1st place means you will not play those 2 games in the playoffs at home.
Also, again, if there are playoffs, it will require much higher attention since it's a KO round and one mistake could cost you the game and the season. And also sparks extra interest.

Having been there, past and present......it's a grind to make it to the AFLC in the first place......at least in the bigger competitive leagues. Then you grind it out against generally 4-6 of the best teams around the globe, then you have to beat the other team that accomplished the same as you did. Top team from each AFLC bracket works good and all the other teams still get the extra paydays, which is extremely beneficial in GI, where cash flow can be challenging to stay consistently at the top

lol there is no home field advantage in the AFLC. Then you have the fact that for any changes to be made to the set up of the game some one would actually have to give a fuck. The game is how it is and its dying day by day, it has been for many many years.

I have seen people say that the AFLC has no home field advantage. I have never actually seen the devs make that statement, so I am unsure where that information is coming from. Speaking from my own personal perspective, I noticed my AFLC team performance was very similar to the regular league games where there was a slight advantage at home and slight disadvantage on the road, which the results demonstrated.

Congratulation, lakerman! Decisive victory for your shot at the Iron Bowl next week, if Rosario shoud lose against the Raiders. You've got all the goodies out of the Passing Game today with the big hitters, without the downside (INTs). No shot for me today despite having a Pass Defense.
