World Cup XII - Day 2 - 27.11.2014


Group A

Finland is the first team to get a ticket for this year play-offs , after todays victory over Czech Republic.This the first time when Finland reach the quarter-finals of a World Cup.Maybe they will be the nice surprise of this year.Today they controled the game from start to end.The czechs were probably a bit relaxed from last day victory and they've been surprised.As i said before , Finland reach the quarter final and for Czech Republic tomorrow will be the decesive match , against Romania .
Czech Republic 14 - 49 Finland

Identic PCT for both QB's.Identic score after the 3rd quarter.But them something clicked in Romania's defence.Robert Marusteri (CB) made 2 interceptions and with another one in the 3rd quarter , he is the hero , that the Head Coach of Romania is obligated to say Thank You.Romania is 1-1 and looking forward to the game that will decide who will took the 2nd place of the group , against Czech Republic.Sadly , Norway is out from the World Cup .

Group B

Just one quarter , France team managed to stay close to Italy.The perfect season for the italians still continues.They are 2-0 and with the help from the other results they are qualify in the play-off.For France the job will be simple.Them and Russia will fight for the 2nd place of this group , and the team who will win the match , will follow Italy in quarter final .
Italy 63 - 35 France

Maybe not a very big surprise after the weak season that the swiss have , but they are out from the World Cup after only 2 matches in the group.It is true that today they've been beaten by some luck from Russia.They tied the game with 18 s on the clock and in overtime , first drive by Russia , and the russians scored from a FG.Russia got a chance for the 2nd place in this group after this victory .
Switzerland 49 - 52 Russia


Group C

Once againt we have 2 teams that meet for the 3rd time this season.Spain and Germany had the 3rd match of the season , and after 2 victories by the spanish , the germans seek for revenge.But spanish coach knows the secret to beat Germany.Once again , Spain managed to win and got a very good chance to qualify in the quarter final , with a match against Slovakia , in the 3rd day of the World Cup.For Germany it would not be this easy , as they meet Poland .
Spain 59 - 41 Germany

What a score.What an offence for Poland.Allmost 70 % PCT for polish QB.Second win in this group for Poland and they have 2 option for the last day of the World Cup main groups.If they win , obvious they go from the 1st place but they have also the option to lose at a small margin and they still gona qualify.They have theyr destiny in theyr own hands.For Slovakia this defeat is the proff that they are out from this World Cup and the last match is only for glory .
Slovakia 35 - 70 Poland


Group D

Excelent offence for Serbia , and after a first loss in the first day of the World Cup , against UK , they've bounce back with a win and still have chances to reach the Quarter-finals.Both , Australia and Serbia are now 1-1 and headind for the last day of the main groups with chances to go in the play-off.Australia will have a match against United Kingdom and Serbia will face Netherland. .
Australia 24 - 42 Serbia

One team had lose in the first day , and the other win.For Netherland victory was the only option and they took it very well.They beat UK , who isn't at a very high level , after a very unconvincing qualification season.All the teams from this group have 1 victory and 1 loss.Whoever win in the last games of the group will succed to the quarter finals of the World Cup 12.May the best teams wins .

Quarter Final

Spain is one of the top formation this year.They provve this thing , once again , in the quarter match against Australia , when with a great offence and a excelent defence advance in the phase for a medal this year.With a PCT of 65% from theyr QB and 14 tackles , 3 sacks and 1 pick from the defence they advance pretty easy in the semi-finals.Last year silver medallist , Australia , got eliminated but they could say that the team who eliminated them , has high chances to this year title.Italy will face the surprise of this year , Romania , in the semi-finals .
Spain 49 - 30 Australia

Even the score show a pretty good match , in teory the match was a bad one for both teams.PCT below 50% for both QB.Even the defence was weak , only 20 tackles for both teams and each team with a interception.For Italy after the first defeat of the season , against Switzerland , seems that they lose theyr streght.But this victory could give them a boost for the upcoming matches.For Germany this season the bad luck was that they played with Germany early in the quarter final.Better luck next time.Spain and Finland will battle for a chance at the gold medal .
Italy 45 - 31 Germany

After the last victory in the group matches , i think Russia was pretty glad that will be facing Finland in the quarter final.But they didn't know that the Finland team was asleep till then and they will wake up in the match versus them.A game without any shining stars but with a consistence performance from Finland.Russia tried againt to comeback but it was to late or to hard this time.Finland after they qualify for the first time in history in the quarter final of the World Cup they will fight this year for a medal.For Finland will be a much hard match in the semi-finals against Spain .
Russia 56 - 42 France

The beatiful dream continues for Romania.After the qualification in the quarter final , they throught that Serbia will be the nightmare for this season.Serbia was the favorites after they beat UK , Australia and other powerfull teams , they tought that Romania will be a easy target.But the Romania team with the best season in theyr history , after this performance , catch the game of theyr lives and they got the chance to fight for a medal.For Serbia it was a good season , thinking about that last year they didn't qualify for World Cup.Next in line will be the favorites of the title this season , Italy. .

Semi Final

Great start of the match for Finland and many people thought that the underdogs could go all the way.And they were pretty close , cause after three quarter , they were in front with 6 points.But the spanish offence is one of the greatest in GI world and they prove it once again.With a little help from theyr defence who got the sheet from 4th quarter as 0 to Finland , the offence scored twice and it is time to celebrate another final qualification after season 2 , when they've been defeat by UK , in the match for the gold.For Finland remains only the option for a bronze medal , but i think they are pretty happy anyway .
Spain 49 - 41 Finland

With no disrespect to the other teams , but in my oppinion this was the final of this World Cup edition.No shining offence , excelent defence from both defence.Man , what a game.I think the result of the game was established in the second quarter of the game , when romanian QB throw a couple of picks and the italian offence take the chances and scored twice.Romania had 2 chances in the last quarter to tie the game but , the "Blue Courtain" shine again stopped the romanian defence once at the 76 yard line and once at the 62.Italy deserve to be in the final.For Romania is the great season in history and they could honor it with a bronze medal .
