I see he's logged in since the game, so he's OK. I was concerned that real life may have caused a problem. It's still a possibility.

I've enjoyed the GI forums for over 5 years now. Outside of a malcontent here or there, they've been very enjoyable and well run. Lately, that has gone down the crapper. Malcontents stirring the pot and then complaining when something is done, mods overreacting some trying to control the malcontents, then the rest of the community gets up in arms over both actions. Slowly, the GI forums seem to be denigrating into every other forum on the net.

Now though, I'm truly saddened to see the state of the GI community. We don't even know what has happened yet, but Joe's being roasted because of a bot lineup. I realize he volunteered for the position and was vote in, but it's still just a game. It doesn't matter whether he forgot the lineup, didn't realize the games started this soon, or simply entered a bad lineup, beating him up about it will not change the outcome. Before accusing him, working towards replacing him, or chasing him off, let's wait quietly and mind our own business. I'm sure he would have explained what happened when he got back online. Now, he can see the witch hunt in progress that started the moment bot lineup was discovered. You've already shown that no matter what he says now, it won't be good enough. Maybe he has a good reason, maybe he just forgot or didn't realize when the games started. It really doesn't matter because it is just a game.

I agree completely and while I think it's funny (because it's just a game, but also because so many folks are making such a stink), it is just a game. Didn't a certain French manager just bot a game? Things do happen in real life. I think some comments are simply because some managers would love to see a high ranked team out of the WC, just improves their chances to go further.

I will state, win or lose, our manager has my full support for as long as we are in. If "throwing my hat in the ring" for the next WC was viewed as an insult, I apologize. All I really said on the game was, "ugh", as I'm sure our manager was thinking too

Besides everyone who is talking about the mighty USA should wake up and smell the what's cooking. New Zealand are the new UK..just 50 years older

Bottom line it is just a game. The forums havent been as much fun of late. We all enjoy the game or we wouldnt be here. Lets just make it an enjoyable place for all.

It doesn't really bother me why it happened or that it happened at all. I just think it was quite funny.

Fair point about RL concerns, that could've been a real possibility.

I don't think there's really a witch hunt in process. What has happened, has happened and it'll probably just be a minor blip in the USA's WC qualification campaign and one that will soon be forgotten.

Anyway its between the USA coach and the USA community, so with that in mind I won't say anything else about it.

I never said Joe was a bad guy? He's a good coach and a good guy. All I said was that it was disappointing, and I want to know why we botted. And why he didn't answer anyone's messages. If there is a fair answer to it all, such as real life things, then that's completely understandable. It just seems like we are all in the dark about the matter so it's hard to say what it could be.

But, as Gator said, I will (obviously) continue to support Joe and the USA NT
