Here's a thread for the usual WC powwows, commiserating, lineup complaints, gripes, nail-biting, and banter.

For starters: talk about a group! The highest-ranked team besides us is Spain, at #14. That beats last year, when we had #3-ranked Denmark and #11-ranked Italy. After Spain, we have Hungary (#22) and Colombia (#32).

Obviously, we can't sit back and put our feet up, but this qualifying group gives us a wider margin for error than last year's.

We should cruise through, although Spain or maybe even Hungary could steal one from us

We should win all our games. This is assuming we don't run into trouble like we did last cycle against Brazil. That was a really close game. And, before that, we had a tough loss against Denmark. That's not something I care to see us repeat.

Against that kind of opposition, I might be tempted out of retirement myself, and my nickname as a backup QB in HS was "butterfingers."

So basically, you were a Peyton Manning............I saw that ball fly over his arm and it reminded me of his 0-4 record against the Gators

we also cant have any upset losses to smaller and less talented teams like finland. although i love them for giving the flames kipper. our nt needs to win those games.

I know Hungary isn't ranked highly, but haven't they been fairly strong the last couple of World Cups?

If they were added to the cup after the first season or two, that would explain the low ranking.

Besides, with this engine and it's quirks, no team is an easy or guaranteed win.

Sounds like a QB I had a few seasons ago...good thing we were running a double wing with a beast of an OL. We attempted five passes the entire season, completed one. But our run game was great, two wedge for 5+ yards most of the time, 66/77 superpower and trap going for better than 10 yards 89% of the time, and only one loss for the season. If we had tried a pass heavy offense (spread for example) it would have been a loooong season. On the other hand seeing one wedge play go for 87 yards and a TD was really nice.

Great game today PHI. We look as strong as we ever have. The new players seemed to play very well, even the older bot players. It seems that strategy has paid off, seen as we had 5 BPOS match ratings ALL OVER on our team. We looked absolutely dominant
