Typically 1 off weekend, which amounts to 2 weeks in real time.

Yes, you get some money, depending on where you placed in your division and also in the cup. Check out Help/FAQ and you will find season prize money explained in detail there.

Upgrading the stadium is up to you. Since you have all your vip seats, I would suggest only building in 3 sections and leaving 1 section open. This will still get you a home cup game instead of being on the road at a bot, if you draw a 1000 seat bot stadium in the first round. Also, you may have a very low income first league game if your first game is at home. You may just want to wait for the season to start and see if you have back to back away games.........best time to build

My understanding was that end of season prize money is received on the Wednesday, but Wednesday has arrived and the prize money hasn't.

I can't start my offseason stadium build without the prize money, and it doesn't really make sense to delay paying the money any further, as this negates the advantage of building in the off-season.

Does anyone have any idea as to what day of the week we can expect to receive this prize money?

That's exactly what I did. Here's a direct quotation from the guide to the offseason thread:

"Hi everybody. These are some facts and hints for the offseason in general.

What happens:

After last league game of old season the offseason starts.

Monday - friendly game
Wednesday - on this day all price money will arrive on your account."

Contrary to what the offseason guide says, the prize money hasn't arrived, what with this being Wednesday and there being no prize money in my account and all.

So when can we expect to receive the prize money, if not today?

In a week....

Building in the offseason should have started the day after your last home game and with enough money in the bank so you can handle the wages and maintenance costs for the weeks until the next home game in the new season - with the option of running 400.000 into the red.

Only 3 out of 4 stands should be constructed leaving at least 1001 seats on the fourth stand ensuring that the cup draws done at the beginning of the next season ensures a home game if the game is against a BOT team. Building on 3 out of 4 stands reduces your maintenance costs.

If you have not started building yet, you can run the risk of building and having to have the first home game on a construction site so only build on your two smallest stands (or only one if you have all VIP and EXECs done) leaving an OK stadium for a home game. If you are a real risk taker, you build on three stands with the hope that your first game in the new season is an away game.

The prize money received in next week should cover the gap to the 400.000 you borrowed and start you off with a nice 0 when the season starts. Remember friendlies! They can bring you some needed money too...Last edited on 2012-09-19 at 9:32

So the second Wednesday of the offseason, not the first Wednesday as it says in the offseason guide.

Yeah... The game has never been great with the terms 'first and second weeks' when communicating.

Just follow my edited post above...

And if I where you, I would build on one of your stands (unless you have money to build all VIP and EXEC on one stand and then when the prize money comes, I would wait until after the first cup match / home match and build on the second small stand.

Thanks for the clarification, and for the record, I agree 100% with your advice on stand building.

I think it's safe to assume that offseason is going to last a little longer than two weeks - if we don't have the prize money yet and details of anticipated wage increases, then this is now unlikely to happen until next Wednesday, meaning that the recalibration of player wages won't happen until the following Wednesday.

Hopefully I won't have gone bankrupt by the time the new season starts! Last edited on 2012-09-19 at 11:26

Over the last few seasons, certainly since I joined, that offseason guide has not been worth the electronic paper it is written on!
