You should go with the player with talent level of at least 3.5 stars, but preferably higher, and with the best intelligence and consistency combination. Higher talent rating is important because the players BPOS (game rating) can max at a higher level than one with a lower talent rating. For intelligence and consistency I think they are a must at QB, but not everybody feels the same. You also need to use a younger QB as it can take a long time to train. At the early stages of team building, the younger players given positions are irrelevant. Although it takes time, the players best position changes (a half star for every 10 games played at the same position usually). Hope this helps.

My advice will be to take it easy... You have 2 or 3 seasons before you have to be competitive (this season for promotion and the next two to get settled in IV and then compete for promotion).

Your plan should be to either promote or find a player with minimum 3½ star talent, +18 INT / CON and decent height (not implemented in current engine, but supposed to come) and make him your future QB. If next season becomes hard (eg. you're close to relegation) then you could check the transfer market for some one year wonders, that could take you a fair step forward.

Use the this season and next to find him and in the same time look and see if you can get some good WR/TE. They don't have to be 13+ catching. (Keep your 4 BPOS WR.)

I did in my last season in V buy a decent (old) QB and two WR's that helped me get promoted and come to IV, but these have since then been fired / sold for the next generation.

Set a budget for how much you are willing to spend and keep building that stadium.

A good QB prospect can be found for cheaps, but I went out and used 270k for mine and he is only 3½ star (19/18 INT/CON) and WR's can be found for any low price.

But as I said... you have at least 3 seasons to think about it and find your players. Some of us are still working on those positions eventhough we are competitive.

The main point here is that you need to take time in this game. There is no quick fix because if you buy the best players from the outset then you'll go bust due the high wages. Getting the right players in the right positions is very important, but you will also need to develop the stadium (VIP seats first, then execs) so that you can afford the wage bill the next season. You always have to think ahead. Some people love the idea of planning ahead and working towards a goal, others prefer instant success. This is not an instant success game, so as Sredna says, take your time (and enjoy). You will be beaten a lot to start with, but by proper training and team evaluation, the results will come.

5'11" is good enough in this engine, but since there is at least 2-3 seasons of development in him, I think he could end up short... (hahaha)...

I would not move away from your present QB right now... Cap those physicals before you look at anything and your WR here should be a perfect safety...

Relax, you have at least 20 youth pulls to pick from and if you don't get a good pull (or buy a decent 3½ / 4 star QB prospect for under 10k on the market within the season (or halfway through next) the react.

Fact is that you most likely will promote this season. Maintain IV league in season 12 (since there are at least three BOT teams in that league. Season 13 will then be your deadline for having a QB. By then, you will have built your stadium and have enough money to actually buy a decent 28+ year old QB if needed to stay away from relegation. He would be able to play a couple of seasons while you train you prospect.

I did that. Had a prospect and bought a 27 year old to get me to IV. Sold him halfway through my first IV season when I saw that I did not get promotion and relegation was not an option. I know have decent 3 star talented QB that will keep me in IV and perhaps promote me next season and a nice youngster on the way.

Patience....

look at white, stupid me looked only at position instead of stats....

yeah more "balanced" if you can say it...but Hawkins is a good choice if I were to, could then turn white to a safty and hopefully see what happens there. then hopefully get a WR in the next weeks from the youth pull, got smedley so he's good at RB learning from Hussain but really Hawkins may be good for a while, what's the new Engines projections of a "QB"

also he's 16 so how can he NOT grow!?!?! I thought my mom said your supposed to grow till 18! not 16!

Intelligence at 5 is not going to cut the mustard at QB. Stick with the best talent, highest intelligence, and hopefully consistency and you'll be alright.
