Good campaign mate - Australia again only 1 good win from progressing.

I raised my eyebrows a couple of times but you did a fine job and there should be no complaints

Wow Serbia beat the States ! I read something about them running a 3 OL set. Any thoughts on this ?

Yeah, Serbians lined up with LOG, C, ROG, and two TEs. The three OL formation has been done a couple of times with different varieties. One recently folded Eastern Euro Top Div team used to play with it a lot. I think at the end of the day, they were playing with the fact that DTs never ever get sacks in the current engine, and because the USA lined up with a 4-3, they'd effectively have two pointless players on defence. So by freeing up two slots otherwise needed on the OL that would achieve little against already useless players, they put in two TEs which apparently did the job whilst also being eligible receivers.

I'm surprised Argentina beat Canada to be honest. There aren't that many developed Argentinian teams around (especially compared to Canada) so their pool of players isn't the biggest. For me personally, Germany is the favourite out of the four left, but the way Serbia is playing could mean a shock.

And Germany are blessed. Obviously there are no time outs in this engine - bitta bad luck about no late FG there

Remember that all it takes is 11 players offense and 11 players defense to win a game.
and all these players need to have are great skills.
One single team in any country could have these guys...does not matter which country but they must have better skills than any other. (plus high talent)
Australia may be up there in a few years as long as australian managers keep their highly talented players, instead of selling them, and train their skills(also paying for it).

4.5 star talent minimum. talent plays an enormous role in the outcome whether low consistency or high...

As long as talents get developed. Wherever, it doesn't matter - though obviously finding them back will be a problem if they're not in this region. I found some non-NT 5* BPOS Aussie WRs the other day in another region, though no idea if they're any good or that developed.

Guilty of selling a number of 4-4.5* Aussie youth pulls. I think only one didn't have an unworkable low cap in at least one physical and that was sold to the Bucs. It looks like project has him destined for a spot in his LB core. I sold him knowing he was uncapped so I could 'spice' up a transfer ad containing other candidates with caps or less talent (but without being dishonest of course, rarely ever anything under 3.5*). Probably should have kept him considering all the ridiculously low caps I've been hitting with my pulls. Been rolling in the talent department (pulled a 5* last week to go with two 4*s over the last four weeks) but not in the physicals compartment on the Aussie recruits.

Stoo selling off his team earlier gave a great insight. He certainly put a lot of emphasis on players with good physical skills alongside talent and football skills. I'm encouraged by this, as physicals with 4.5*+BPOS has certainly always been a top priority for me. A lot of other fire sales from developed teams I see reasonably high talent with high football skills but mediocre physicals, and I'm convinced that's why they're no Badgers and just merely a 'good' team.

So yeah, if I ever become NT Head Honcho, reasonable physicals are a must. Where possible of course, because we really need to sort out our apparent shortage of superstar safety prospects! Some interesting physical possibilities out there (I'm looking at Mr. Betts, BuiltForSpeed) but no one 'perfect' with either low intel or mediocre speed (despite great strength).

Since December I have picked up 8x Australian players from Australian teams that have been between 3.5-4.5* talent. 6 of them have a set place in my roster for good as their physicals are what I want them to be. 2 still are developing but looks like I'll be keeping them also. Keeping the Aussie players inhouse and developing them they way they should be, will see a good stream for Aussie players in 2-3 seasons time. And there is another 4x 4.5-5.0* talents that are developing also.

I have heard people speak as though they know a physical has capped - how do they know that? Do they simply see training points go over 100 but not increase that stat or is there another way?

Alwyn Hayne - playerid=520310

Pos/Vis = 10
Intel = 17
Tackling = 12 (working on it...)
Speed = 19
Str = 14
Agility = 10
Consistency = 17

Often performs better for me than Nicholas Bate.

Nice! I'm sure with another season he'll be in the calculations of whoever becomes NT coach.
