Nice effort, don't settle for second seed in the group though

Don't want to. But do we:-

1) Keep playing the way we are?
2) Try something left-wing regarding tactics/positions?

If the way we're playing has been consistent and got us where we are, then I think we know how far that playstyle can take us.

I'd just use it as an opportunity to test things out on both sides of the ball. Obviously nothing too crazy like 3 Defensive Linemen, no MLB and 2 extra CBs (because we still want 1st seed), but maybe a see how a 3-4 defence goes or an overload/stacked flank on offence. Minor tweaks that don't go too far away from a mostly winning formula.

EDIT: Although... do we all remember how Cashbox stuffed the UK's darkwing attempt last season with the gamble of 2CBs and both safeties on one side? So maybe the 3 DLine, 2 OLB, 4 CB, 2 SF formation is an option! (And yeah, it's legal )

For the record, I'm trying out that 3 DLine, 2 OLB, 4 CB, 2 SF defence against you project.

Though of course, it'd be hard to gain any real data out of the result considering you're playing quite a few rookies and I notice, some dual position players (kick returners who are proficient at WR, established HBs who are only semi-proficient at TE, etc). Then again, my defence isn't exactly top class skills wise (though physically, I'm pretty damn happy with most of them ).

EDIT: And my kicker just missed a 29 yard field goal. SACKED I SAY. I've been meaning to get a new placekicker, because although I love my current one I can't help but feel he's the wrong kind of guy for kicker which was the position he was already trained in when I bought him off a now defunct North American Top Div team. That and when I got him, his physicals were already trained to beastmode at 20/19. Wasted potential. :/

Through to the World Cup. We have proven we can beat a Top 10 team by beating Switzer twice. There are 6 teams with lower rankings than that in the World Cup. So it put us in a good place to make a move for the next stage. Hopefully the final 16 draw will be kind to us.

Top effort, mate! Certainly seems we'll be a dangerous proposition for the likes of Brazil, Italy, Austria...

Thanks!

As long as we only get one of the following team in our group, USA, UK, Poland, Netherlands, Canada and Russia, we'll be all good. Two will be massive problems.

The last Poland game showed a big offensive improvement with changed positions and tactics compared to the first Poland game. But dropped defensively with what I tried. So switching the defense back should mean we are able to mix it with the top teams.

Some games are still to be played in the Qualifying stage, so we got a break until at least the 19th of March before we know more.

Time to analyze the past six games and come up with something to rattle the big guns. If anyone sees or notes something, please don't be shy and let me know.

I'm glad I didn't fail Austalian Team followers. Now it is time to go one better again.

We are about to loose one of your starting safeties. Gary Grundy (ID 43530) Poop! Just in time for the next stage.

Interesting insight into NT builds. What a strange looking build... 14 intel and low physicals (though very high skills) at safety.

Is that the kind of build that really works in this current (old) engine? If so, now I feel kind of foolish for being so picky with talents!

the low physicals isn't my cup of tea either. but you have to work with the best players you got.

physicals, main skills, BPOS and consistency all would be taken into account for any manager, not just for Nation Teams, but all teams i'd assume.

i would've gone for someone with 15 tackling with good physicals and same BPOS over him, but there was no one else that suited that.
