Noticing in scanning through the transfer market, a lot of veteran tight ends - with catching trained up into the stratosphere, and blocking still at a 2 or 3.

Is this just because these teams pass 100%, or is the community of the opinion that TE blocking is currently bugged / not implemented / not worthwhile / etc.

Cheers!

If this game is any realsitic, the TE s blocking skills will matter.

Infact, I prefer TE with high blocking skills over TE with high catching skills. (mostly because I run a balanced offense

And we know that if there is one thing this game isn't, it is realistic.

I have some bad news for you buddy

I see it like this: Blocking may help, catching definitely helps. Bring up catching/physicals/agility first and then worry about blocking.

well, gimme a second try: if this game was any realistic, blocking would matter in some way.

True that, at times it appears, that this game has created its own reality

Hmmmm ... maybe rename my team Down the Rabbit Hole on that note.

I'll have to experiment with it and see if I can pull any tendencies out - running with TE blocking to that side versus none, versus someone *there* but with a low blocking skill.

Just make sure you're playing the same team each time............I'd suggest trying this against another human that is willing to run the same formation defensively at you with the same players. These tests need to be run in friendlies with teams that are interested in finding out things too, so the study needs to be kept as consistent as possible

Even if the TEs block you would probably never know unless told so. The 'blocking(1-20)' skill may not necessarily hav e adirect correlation with blocking on pass/rush plays, if the other TE skills have been trained up.
Its a 'TE as an algebraic expression' going up a 'defender as an algebraic expression'
