hi folks

just a quick warning about wages.
the wage increase will be happening soon during the off-season and can be quite a dramatic jump.

For those of you that aren't aware the pay scale is based on single high positional skills (i.e all skills not including spd, str, stam)
It follows this rough scale;

Skill Weekly Wage
1 ------500
2 ------800
3 ------900
4 ------1300
5 ------2400
6 ------2700
7 ------3200
8 ------4800
9 ------6600
10 -----9000
11 -----13000
12 -----17100
13 -----22300
14 -----28900
15 -----37300
16 -----46800
17 -----57800
18 -----70600
19 -----85400
20 -----102200

please be aware of this increase as i've noticed a few new teams bidding on high skilled players on the transfer market, the wage that shows now, will not be the wage you'll be paying next season.

for example, there's currently a guy with 18 tackling on sale, his wage is currently listed as 23k a week, but will in fact jump to 70-75 next season.
this can be cripling for a new team, please exercise a little caution

Do BPOS and talent affect wages, or is it just trainable skills that determine the baseline for wages?

I've already had to message several teams with 1000 seats who have decided to bid on players with 16+ skills..

We really should limit these noobs on the transfer market, or make them read something about salaries etc. like Peter suggested..

Couldn't agree more. Please be aware if you're a new team with limited seats, you will not be able to afford these players and you really don't need anything like them for Div V

the market has more talented players now than it did then. i think this disclaimer is necessary. there should probably be a projected wage next to the current wage right now.

Actually, I think the salary system needs to change. Players can now go from a mediocre, low salary player to an elite, low salary player at the end of a season to an elite, high salary player after the season flip. A wise manager (wise enough to win the iron bowl), can train up players and sell/cut them before the season flip and never pay the high wages. I think this is fair for manager to use/abuse, but its definitely not realistic or good for the game.

Is there a case, then, for the wage increasing as soon as the skill level rises, rather than waiting until the end of the season?

Why are they increasing their wages so much?

To balance the game perhaps? It actually works quite well, but could use some tweaks in regards to positions of players.
