ok so have i got this right

1.Players have a BPos that is random and not based on their abilities.

2.players TALENT star rating indicates how good the player can become in the coaches chosen position

3.To find the best position based on player abilities i base it on whatever key stats i feel important for his position.

i have got loads of info on all of the above so i just want to make sure im understanding it all.

1. BPOS starts out randomly but if you play the player at a certain position, it will gain the rating in that position and that new position will be the new BPOS after a while.
ie, a player is right now a kicker, if you play him at QB for a while, he will become a QB. according to the admins, BPOS is important.

2. Talent controls how high a certain player can train skills to
simple formula would be take the (stars x 2) +10
(.5* x 2) + 10 = 11
1* = 12
1.5* = 13
2* = 14
and its like that the rest of the way. a 5* player can get 20 in a skill. this applies to the skills under the "skills" section (not including physicals).
the talent rating does NOT control the physical max (speed, strength and stamina). stamina for all player is capped at 20. speed and strength have hidden caps that will be revealed once you have reached the caps (only supporters can see this).
others like Teamwork or Consistency cannot be trained

it also has to do with BPOS
4.5* and 5* talent players can reach 5* BPOS
3.5* and 4* players can reach 4.5* BPOS
2.5* and 3* can reach 4* BPOS
1.5* and 2* can reach 3.5* BPOS
.5* and 1* can reach 3* BPOS

3. yes, the initial BPOS is pretty much random. his true best position is what his skills are.
a smart player (high intelligence) with high consistency would make a good QB, MLB or Safety
a strong and fast player will make a good Defensive Lineman or running back

ok so me playing my 2.5*talent and BPos RB out of position is pointless, as he is too old to gain anything anywhere else??

He's completely worthless, imho..

I'd get rid of everyone 26 and over. You gain so few training points with them at this stage that you MAY see your RB gain 1 skill point in the rest of his life.

My kicker has 18 punting and 3.5 talent.

By the formula above he should only be able to have a 17.

Also interestingly enough, the .gif files that are used for the talent graphic are oddly named.

3 star .gif files are labeled 3 full and so on.

While 4.5 star .gif files are labeled 5 - half and so on.

There is a small chance that the player can increase his skill beyond his talent limitation as described in FAQ/Training..
